***The UFC/MMA THREAD***

Rampage will be back with the UFC, quote me on it.

I can't wait to see the next episode of TUF. I really hope Kimbo wins. Say what you wanna say about Kimbo, the guy has brought a lot of attention to MMA and the UFC. I doubt he'll win TUF but if he did it would be great for the UFC and MMA in general. The guy is marketable and he would and already has made more people pay attention to the UFC. I know guys that tune into TUF just to see him. To top it off he seems like a pretty stand up guy as well. I really hope he beats Nelson and lasts a few episodes.

The big rumor on a few MMA forums is that Kimbo gets beat bad on the next episode of TUF. I hope this isn't true but it wouldn't surprise me if it was.

This is the first season of Ultimate fighter I've watched. I'm just wondering a couple things. Does everyone have to fight before you can fight again? What happens when one team loses all their members? I'm guessing team member start fighting each other? What if it's down to 1 on one team, and 5 on the other? Does the one guy have to fight every week until he's out? And do these fights count towards their MMA career?

Thanks :D

Nelson is a chode. He won't last more than a round. If he does, he'll be too tired. For all the talent that Nelson may have, Kimbo is just far too experienced.

The awesome thing is is that we've wanted to see this fight since we were introduced to Roy Nelson. I want Kimbo to win. I like Kimbo, I had little respect for him in his EliteXC days, but he's grown on me during this UF season. I have no doubt that with a bit of training, he will become a minor contender in the HW div.

Problem is with this season is that in this weight class, the guys get too tired to easily. The fights don't last more than 2 minutes. This is why the Kimbo/Nelson fight will be good. Two guys who probably have what it takes to last a couple of rounds. I still think Nelson is a fat dickhead who won't last long enough against Kimbo.

S'go Slice!

Did you just imply Kimbo is more experience than Nelson?

Are you on some kind of magical mushroom crack? That was a serious question.

I worded that wrong. My point was that Kimbo has taken a fight to a third round in pro MMA before and Roy won't be able to beat him up on talent alone.

Actually, that's not true. Hell, I probably was on drugs when I wrote that post.

Officially Announced 108 Bouts:

A. Silva vs Belfort (Middleweight Title)

T. Silva vs Evans

Hendo vs Marquardt

Wait, I thought that Henderson was supposed to get into the title fight? I'm stoked to see him fight Marquardt, that fight will be amazing. Not sure who I'd cheer for. I assume its safe to think that the winner of that is next in line to lose to Silva.

Anderson Silva is the UFC's answer to Floyd Mayweather. Dominant, yet I have no interest in their fights.

Also, this season of TUF is going to be pretty boring if last episode's fight is any indication of things to come. Too many guys who can only last about 60% of a round. None of the guys look like they are in decent shape, except for the ex-football players who are only used to 3-4 second bursts.

Bump ?

Does everyone have to fight before you can fight again?

In most cases yes. If there is an injury they can bring back a fighter who has lost in a previous fight.

What happens when one team loses all their members?

Teammates will fight teammates. This is a game where there is only one winner.

I'm guessing team member start fighting each other?

Yes

What if it's down to 1 on one team, and 5 on the other?

Coaches and Dana will pick the best fights. Teammates will fight teammates. Some teammates may want to move to the team with few people fighting.

Does the one guy have to fight every week until he's out?

No. It is not a team game. They only train as a team.

And do these fights count towards their MMA career?

No. These are 2 round fights. They are exhibition fights which do not count towards their pro record. They will only fight a third round "sudden death" if the rounds are tied 19-19. Which means each fighter won a round. Those fights which go to a third round are also not counted on their Pro record.

Yep. 108 is shaping up to be epic. At first I didn't like the idea of Vitor getting the title shot so quickly, but realisticaly, Hendo and Nate HAVE to fight. Might as well have the #1 contendership the same night as the MW title. Nice move IMO by the UFC. Rashad vs Thiago could be sick too.

I googled Henderson vs. Marquardt and saw that it might be at 105.

Although I'm not sure how good it would be for Henderson to fight in Britain after what happened at 100.

I don't think the English would boo Hendo. Bisping is a prick and it's not like Henderson cheap-shotted him or something. He did his job; entertained the crowd and viciously knocked out his opponent.
