shiznak
My offence has dried up these past 2 weeks, and having 4 players on the DL doesn't help my cause either.

Gretzky's Mullet
Here's the link to the video of Johan Santana finishing off his no-hitter. A historic moment I recommend everyone watching. http://mlb.mlb.com/video/play.jsp?content_id=21947771&source=MLB&gid=2012_06_01_slnmlb_nynmlb_1 Now, watch it again (or for the first time), but this time look closely, at the 35 s mark, at the guys rushing in from the first base side, and perhaps you'll see one that's not quite like the others. Then fast forward to the 50 s mark and see a couple of security guards at the bottom left next to the pile of celebrating players. Yep, that's Mets fan Rafael Diaz who rushed from the stands to enjoy the moment with the boys for a good 10 seconds, until he was pulled from the pile by security, arrested, and taken to jail for a couple of days. JustJokinen!
Here's a summary of the Jays draft picks from yesterday: http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2012/06/05/draft-day-one-wrap-up-the-big-three/ I'm pretty excited about Stroman (RHP) chosen 22nd overall. All the experts were saying he could be the steal of the draft and that he only fell because he is short (he's 5'9"), but has awesome stuff, including a fast ball that touches 97 as a reliever. They say he will eventually become the Jays closer and will most likely join the bull pen before the end of this season. For those of us that have been bitching about the bull pen that is very welcome news.

SarcasticPerson
Jays appear to have had a solid first 7 picks. They've been punting the lost couple picks however to make sure they have the money to sign other players. Wonder if this strategy will workout or blowup in their face. gmen81
So who has Cliff Lee in our pool? I have him in another pool and he still doesn't have a win.
Gretzky's Mullet
Leadoff hitter 3 hits, 3 runs. That's what you want to see. And what got into Rasmus today? That idiot raised his batting average 20 points in one day.

JustJokinen!
It's crazy how simply putting a hitter into a different spot in the order can have a huge effect on his performance. Hopefully Rasmus can keep it up.
Gretzky's Mullet
The Mariners as they look at present should have a decent young team in about 2 years. This would be an extreme case, but if you figure without any free agents their prospects and young players would give a lineup of: LF Trayvon Robinson 2B Dustin Ackley DH Jesus Montero 1B Justin Smoak 3B Kyle Seager SS Nick Franklin C Adam Moore CF Michael Saunders RF Denny Almonte/Phillips Castillo SP Felix SP Blake Beaven SP Hector Noesi SP Danny Hultzen SP Taijuan Walker There's a fair bit of potential there, especially in the rotation, where the Mariners have a number of very solid prospects in the system right now. They've got a few guys at the 3B spot, but it's presently Seager's to lose, however, while his numbers are ok right now they will have to improve if he wants to be a major league starter at a position where the team needs offence. I'm a little uncertain about how the team's going to play the catcher and outfield positions too. Adam Moore was well thought of a few years ago but has had a few cracks at the majors. The team might try to get Jesus Montero to learn how to catch properly, or they might just give up on that and decide he's a bat only. And while they have a whole bunch of outfielders between the majors and the higher minors, I'm not sure there are any sure things at any level. Michael Saunders has picked it up lately and the team certainly has shown enough patience to indicate they believe in the kid, and Trayvon Robinson is a little raw but has the tools. Once Ichiro retires and Figgins' and Gutierrez's contracts are up, the team might be looking for outfield help via free agency. The infield looks good though, as the team will certainly wait for Smoak to achieve his potential, Ackley obviously a good player and a bluechip shortstop in the minors in Franklin (and as soon as they can get Ryan's useless bat out of the lineup everyday, the better).
