Bertuzzi Babe
I was just looking at the Chicago message boards. A lot of the people there are saying stuff like 'totally worth it' ... f***ing classless.
suolucidir
Don't understand the hate for Shanny... What was he supposed to do? 5 was the general consensus I heard from non Canuck or Hawk fans. His video explanations are 100x better and more transparent the Colin's mystery wheel of justice. Just clarification... So can a player opt for a phone hearing? And only receive 5 games? Did Keith do that? If so, Shanny couldn't do any more. We should be raging at Keith instead!

WZRD
For the people saying Keith has no prior history of this, you're wrong. There are videos of Keith leading with the elbow and connecting with an opposing player's head. He just has never been suspended before but Keith has pulled this kind of crap plenty of times. roland
Keith should be suspended until Daniel comes back imo.
DIBdaQUIB
Yes cause it's Shanny's fault if players decide to do something dumb. The government has harsh laws for people who murder other individuals but does it still happen? Yes of course. It's up to the players. Shanny can only do so much. Last thing people want is seeing no contact in hockey.

puckluv
Elbowing to the head can just go on and on, so they obviously don't want to stop head injuries in the NHL http://www.nhl.com/i...ge.htm?id=26335 and illegal "checks" to the head carry a heavier long term repercussion http://www.nhl.com/i...ge.htm?id=64063 "Illegal Check to the Head – A hit resulting in contact with an opponent's head where the head is targeted and the principal point of contact is not permitted." "Elbowing - Elbowing shall mean the use of an extended elbow in a manner that may or may not cause injury. ... If deemed appropriate, supplementary discipline can be applied by the Commissioner at his discretion" So folks if players want to take out other players and give them a concussion, just make sure you use your ELBOW! Edler Is a Beast
This is bigger than just Daniel too. Suppose this turns out to be serious and he misses a serious amount of time, won't that have a direct effect on Henrik too?
Danthecanucksfan
anywhere from 3-5 games fits the crime, love to see 5, wouldve even like more. hope danny gets back soon......
Edler's Mind Tricks
No, no. If the league only offers a phone call then the max is 5. If the league will be seeking more than 5 games then the player has the right to an in person hearing. The player has the option of waiving this right, but that does exclude him from receiving a 5+ game suspension.

Ṣpiderman
Yes murder still happens but if convicted the perpetrator gets appropriate punishment. You have no way of knowing how many murders don't take place because of the deterrent of 25 years behind bars! Hockey players can travel at 25 miles an hour while making tape to tape passes and shoot pucks thorugh the 5 hole at 40 feet...they sure as hell can decide not to hit someone in the head with an elbow. They would quickly learn this if the punishment was severe enough. 5 games is not doin ganything to change anyone's mind. Look at Cooke! It took the threat of his career being over but he has changed the way he plays. The threat of severe punishment is a deterrent. ...and what Keith did is anything bu "contact hockey". be real! The Sedin's 6th Sense
Ridiculous...... who cares, no effect at all to Keith and a possible career changer to Sedin. Sets a precedent to just go out there and hit someone in the elbow away from the play and receive 5 games of no consequence??? Real good job protecting your stars. The problem is dirty plays are now allowed in hockey because there is no real retribution for it. The league is toothless, the refs stink and you will continue to see hits like this for a long time. I just hope the Vancouver organization wakes the F up and stops playing fair sooner then later.
Jaimito
Chicago fans are probably loving this. Rest up their top defenceman just in time for the playoffs.
suolucidir
now he is a repeat offender. if he steps out of bound again in playoffs, he'll be off a lot longer.
Sami Solo
If Alberta didn't have yogurt they would have no culture at all. After all the hype 5 games. Friggen sad if you ask me. Was totally worth it for Keith. Thanks NHL and up yours!
Bingo Chili
1 playoff suspension is better than 5 + regular season games! damm nhl...just hope the canucks face the hawks somehow in the playoffs...time to really embrace the hate and just give ass whoopings to these hawks especially keith. Steve Carell
Ok.... Let's say first round, Edler lays out Kane from behind after Kane whacks Salo between the lege. Kane has a concussion. Edler is suspended for 5 games (no history but predatory and illegal). Don't ya think there would be a similar response? Don't get so high on that horse that you delude yourself.
