What Changes Would You Make To Our Lineup For Game 2 (If Anything)?

Recommended Posts

A lot of people assuming Daniel will be back for Game 2.

Kassian-Hank-Burr - Kassian goes to the net and create chaos for quick and allow hank and burr to do their thing.

Booth-Kesler-Raymond - stick with speed and pressure on forecheck

Higgins-Pahlsson-Hansen

Manny-Lappy-Weise

Hammer-Juice

Edler-Tanev

Alberts-Salo

If Daniel can go:

Sedin-Sedin-Burrows

Booth-Kesler-Ebbett

Higgins-Pahlson-Hansen

Raymond-Lapierre-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa

Edler-MAG

Rome-Salo

No Daniel?

Lapierre-Sedin-Burrows

Raymond-Kesler-Booth

Higgins-Pahlson-Hansen

Weise-Malhotra-Kassian

Hamhuis-Bieksa

Edler-Salo

Rome-Tanev

AV used my line up combinations suggestion for game 7 vs Chicago last year. If he uses my lineup suggestion again, Canucks will win.

1. Hansen H.Sedin Burrows (Sedin needs to play with the most dangerous wingers right now, they are Hansen and Burrow )

2. Higgins Kesler Booth (I think keeping all Amercians to one line can motivate them even more. )

3. Lapierre Pahlsson Raymond (Lapierre back to where he belongs , Raymond given a job not to score but to check)

4. Reinprecht Ebbett Weise (Malhotra is weak, Kassian is not ready, I'd rather take my chances with other players)

Reunite the AMEX line. Take Raymond off the first line, or sit him in the press box. The fourth line was terrible last game, so change it up with whoever... just trying something different.

I would keep Luongo, he played great for the first game.

LAPPIERE-Sedin-Burrows

Raymond-Kesler-Booth

Higgins-Pahlsson-Hansen

Weise-Malhotra-Kassian

*If 2nd line isn't working out bring out AMEX and bump Raymond down to 3rd

Hamhuis-Tanev

Edler-Bieksa

GRAGNANI-Salo

*MAG may not be as physical but this guy is young and can play. Was huge in the first round for Buffalo last year maybe he can give a spark!

Biggest concern: Bieksa- Edler pairing. They were on the ice for 3 of the 4 'goals against' last night, that qualifies as 'brutal'. Unfortunately, this isn't new. Since forming, this paring has been consistently brutal.

The problem now is the same problem Gillis had last summer - and failed to address. NO partner for Edler who can eat big minutes. I predicted this issue last summer, I saw this coming. They broke up one of the best shut down pairings in the NHL, to find a partner for Edler. And it still failed. They've tried Rome, Grags, Salo, Sulzer in that spot. Salo and Sulzer were the only guys who looked good, but Sulzers now gone and Salo can't eat the big minutes required to play there.

AV's gonna have to work some magic for the d-pairings, but Edler-Bieksa is not an option going forward.

i think it wouldn't be a bad idea to go back to the lines that were producing down the stretch there. Im not sure why AV would tinker with chemistry going into the playoffs. Line chemistry is far too important to mess with, and I understand something needs to be done to get booth and kes going, but not at the expense of two other lines.

lines should be: (without Daniel)

Burrows-hank-lappy - we have seen what this line can do together.

higgy-kes-Booth - AMEX line has been great everytime they have been put together, and it seems higgy is an all line bandaid

Raymond-Sammy-Hansen. Raymond's speed can give this line a bit of offensive prowess, coupled with hansens play

Kassian- Malholtra- Ebbet/Weise - good energy 4th line. (bitz also, when not suspended)

i think this is the most balanced proposition, that gives us 4 solid lines, 3 of which CAN contribute offensively, and a 4th that might be able to chip in as well.
