The Quebec Nordiques has been experiencing an unexpected push for the division lead, but even with this unexpected success, they will continue to stay the course with the long term plan.

"We won't be giving up on our youth, we are bursting with young players ready to make an impact - Huberdeau, Reilly, Teravainen, Coyle and Schroeder are just the first layer of our youth movement" - Gm Squeak.

But its clear to see that Quebec does have a hole in the centre position with Brian Boyle and Antoine Vermette being pending UFA at seasons end. "Clearly we would want to resign both of the them, but we understand that may not be possible due to the falling cap next season' quipped Squeak.

'But we would love to add a bonafied Top 6 centre to our group for next year, but the players that have been shopped and offered to us, would have cost us 2-3 top young pieces for an aging veteran. So given that we would be willing to give up the necessary pieces to get what we need, but we won't gut the team'

When pressed, GM Squeak advised what he would be willing to part with - ' Yes, our 2014 1st round pick, a D, and one top young player would be a package we would be willing to move, if not more, if the deal was right'.

When further pressed for details, GM Squeak snapped back ' We won't name specific names on our roster as that is not fair to our players, but it's pretty clear who is untouchable on this team'

Given this - it's safe to assume that Quebec is willing to pay the needed price prior to the April 3 deadline ,to get the ready to put them 'over the top' next season .

We will see if going 'over the top' will be in Quebec, The Emerald City or The Valley of the Sun.
