nd84
according to @news1130sports https://twitter.com/.../news1130sports "CKWX has learned that #Canucks #1 draft pick Niklas Jensen will play in Sweden next year of he doesn't make the Canucks." They also tweeted that 3-4 teams are interested, and that he will pick one in the next two weeks
Bieksasangryface
Good. Will develop a lot quicker over there.
Spitfire_Spiky
Why Sweden? Seems random unless Naslund's trying to bring him to Modo.

TOMapleLaughs
Good. In the AHL he'll likely just get concussed again. Too soft, yes, too soft to begin the training. TOML
Kassian
He speaks Swedish I believe. Good place to develop because he will most likely be playing with adults.

Provost
Not too sure but I think he wouldn't have been eligible for AHL yet? He would of had 1 more year in junior or play with the Canucks. But now there's another option in Sweden
etsen3
Wonder if the Canucks encouraged this move. It's a good idea, at this point for Jensen it's probably better to move up to competing against pros rather than spending another year in the OHL, which might not be enough of a challenge. I would be happy if he went to Modo, I bet Naslund would help him out a lot.
Niloc009
Nice. Only so much you can develop playing against players younger than you. In Sweden he will be playing against men. Even though it's softer hockey than in the OHL, he'll be playing against people stronger than himself.
cs2016
Yeah it would be good for Jensen to be challenged in Sweden instead of going back to the OHL.
RyanKeslord17
This guy seems so determined to be a better player. It seems to me like he's going to surprise EVERYONE at camp and make the team.

nd84
Just a quick question guys. If he decides to play in Sweden after not making the Canucks roster, it will be just like us sending him to Junior right? Meaning we would have to let him stay in Sweden the whole season and can't call him up?
Tangerines
Very good option for him to pursue incase he doesn't make the team. Better for him to play in the Swedish elite than in the OHL.

Spitfire_Spiky
With Kesler starting the season on the sidelines it opens up the second line to try out some rookies and see if they are ready. If Schroeder doesn't perform at camp and earn a chance on the second line hopefully Jensen will get the shot to stick. Otherwise Sweden makes sense considering his development. RXnucks975
I'm fine with him playing in sweden over playing another year in the OHL. If he was choosing Sweden over the AHL I'd be a little upset. My guess he's home sick
