BabychStache
Everyone talks about the Oilers being the dominate NW team of the future but Colorado scares me more. Top level young forwards, good young d core and young developing goaltender.
Azzy Mahmood
Now the hard work begins - getting him to that next level. He really needs some dynamic coaching and a hard summer of work. Good luck to him though.

CanucksFanMike
Colorado is the youngest team in the NHL in terms of average age... In 5-10 years the canucks will age and need a rebuild, the flames and Wild will stay the same (i.e. non-playoff teams), the oilers wont be able to afford all their young guns, and the avs will be kings of the NW division

NucksCelts
Minnesota is loaded with top prospects also. The Canucks better get their young guys developed because in a few years this division may be full of young talent.
Edlerberry
Johnson has a great contract. Very affordable and by the end of it he should be in for a BIG pay raise. I'd much rather Johnson at 3.75 than Garrison at 4.6.

D.Doughty
As of right now, Colorado got the best of the Johnson-Stewart deal. Solid signing for a franchise defencemen... but less than Garrison

ninja321
Fair contract IMO. Avs are gonna be good in a few years once their players mature
.Naslund
I disagree 100% - so far the best player in that deal has been Shattenkirk.
Dion Phaneuf
Shattenkirk is miles ahead of Johnson... Good price for Johnson, didn't overpay.
-CanuckMan-
The Gillis goal is the Detroit "fountain of youth" (see: players with a dedicated OCD commitment to fitness) where their core always seems to play at a high level well into their mid to late thirties. If Gillis can add a Weber in his prime next summer this team will be set up for the next decade (Sedins have 4-5 years of 1st/2nd line level left). I know you're not a Garrison fan but he's a very underrated shutdown guy with a booming shot, so a top-4 of Hamhuis-Weber, Garrison-Bieksa would be golden. bleednucksblue
Yea I agree but the scary thing next year is we might lose Edler for nothing because he may want Top 4 minutes which will be very tough with that top 4.
