They were also fined and had a draft pick taken away for spygate. Obviously didn't learn their lesson from that. Cheaters will be cheaters. :)

Spygate - another witch hunt - what a pile of crap - there was no real "spygate" - you were allowed to film opponents - but you had to do it from a designated NFL approved location. Cameraman messed up that's all. It's not like they gained anything from being in a different location. But the haters and media sure like to blow it out of proportion.

Not sure why you guys are discrediting Heretic....

The 2007 New England Patriots videotaping controversy, widely dubbed "Spygate",[1][2] refers to an incident during the National Football League's (NFL) 2007 season when the New England Patriots were disciplined by the league for videotaping New York Jets' defensive coaches' signals from an unauthorized location during a September 9, 2007 game. Videotaping opposing coaches is not illegal in the NFL but there are designated areas allowed by the league to do such taping. The Patriots were videotaping the Jets' coaches from their own sideline, which is not allowed.

Now, after "Spygate", they changed the rule that you can't even film from the designated area anymore. But it had always been legal up until after the Spygate punishment. Here's John Madden talking about it during a 1992 game.

You guys honestly think that spygate was just the Patriots filming from the wrong angles?? Are you kidding me...

Goodell saved the Pats a$$ when he had all the evidence destroyed. He was trying to make it up with deflategate clearly.

Those 3 rings are tainted. Now it's not like Brady and Belichick only won cause of spygate but imo it hurts their legacies a little (or a lot, depends who you ask)

The term 'Spygate' literally refers to the September 9, 2007 incident.

A disgruntled former employee once tried spreading that the Patriots taped the Rams walk through practice, but the media retracted their "reports" and apologized for publishing false reports. Pretty sure the Rams also confirmed their practice was secure.

Lol, "tainted rings." Never gets old, like Canucks fans thinking there's a conspiracy of the NHL having it out for them.

There's really no point in arguing with Pats "fans" dude. You'll never win. One of their players could break into someones house and kill a person who was living in it and be like "b-b-but it was self defense." Edited by Pears
