RockNroLLa.
I like the brouwer and a first part a lot. Id move Higgins instead of Raymond. Higgins does not offer anything specialor unique. Raymond is speey and while he is inconsistent his speed and shot are far better than higgins.
Ilya Mikheyev
Yea creates depth and adds a much needed big body. But I m sure a goalie would be included somewhere in there..

theminister
Schneider + Holtby/Neuvirth leaves a lot of experience to be wanted, I'd prefer a veteran guy like Nabokov personally. Then NYI & WSH can make a deal for a goalie... Or maybe a 3-way, I guess To Vancouver: Brouwer, Chimera, WSH's 1st, Nabokov To NYI: Holtby, Vancouver's 4th To WSH: Luongo, Raymond
Smashian Kassian
There are rumblings regarding Schneider's agent who might have played his cards differently in light of Luongo doing so good, as well as TSN finally going on record that Schneider will "have to seize his opportunity when it comes", which he has. Basic fact is, the Canucks are the richest team between the pipes. Lets just enjoy this franchise's golden age now, for it will come to an abrupt stop in a few years. Ilya Mikheyev
I like the idea of adding a big body and something for the future. We need to add size/grit for the playoffs to go against teams like LA and Sharks even the Blues. This should be MGs priority. We could also use a 3rd line center. Lu + Raymond for Laich...+

Smashian Kassian
^^Is that not Troy Brouwer? With the way the Capitals are going, they very well could miss the playoffs.
Pears
Because you have the Isles trading only Nabokov and receiving Holtby and a 4th. Edit: Change Was 1st to NYI 1st and you're a lot closer.

Ilya Mikheyev
Nabokov is old, Holtby is young and has potential. Nabby would be a good mentor for Schneider for this year.

Smashian Kassian
Go ahead on rage on me for "not using a valid source" but according to hockeyyinsiderr the Caps offer of Johansson and Neuvirth for Luongo and Raymond was declined and the Canucks have asked for Carlson or Alzner as a starting point. Makes no sense to me because we don't need defence but what ever.
Ilya Mikheyev
My argument wasn't that Nabokov wouldn't be a better back-up to Schneider. My argument was that the Isles aren't getting Holtby and a 4th for him.
RockNroLLa.
If we could get Brouwer and a first I believe it would help our team now and later. Then we can push a guy like raymond and a 3rd for ott. We are in win now, we need to add size/grit. Smashian Kassian
Lu for Carlson, Neuvirth WSH Declines. Lu for Brouwer, Orlov, Neuvirth Fair value, but would rather Johansson than Brouwer, we don't need another 3W. Lu, 2nd for Bjugstad (Conditional 1st if Bjugstad leaves), Shore, goalie FLA Declines. , Lu and Raymond for Bjugstad (Conditional 1st if Bjugstad leaves), goalie, Versteeg FLA Declines. Lu for Petrovic, Matthias, goalie FLA Accepts, bad for us. Lu for Kulikov, Shore, goalie FLA Declines
theminister
This would be a good deal for the Isles, but it also helps out the Canucks in the short-term. If Nabby was a deadline day acquisition he'd probably be worth a 2nd + a back-up with no potential.. like Sabourin + a 2nd/3rd type deal. So, the Canucks lose a 4th but don't risk taking on Holtby as the back-up for a cup run.
Ilya Mikheyev
Overpayment, and this trade just adds redundancy. a 3rd Line Winger is not a need, we already have Hansen, Higgins, Raymond, Kassian, exc.
