When the Philadelphia Flyers get their Chris Pronger LTIR cap relief at the end of the month, forward Dan Cleary will join the team.

Helene St. James reports it’s a cap hit of $2.75 million per season. The 34-year-old had nine goals and six assists in 48 games last season. He also added 10 points in 14 playoff games.

Just saw this post when going through the thread for updates I've missed.

Brett Carson has been released by the Rangers due to contract overseas, other than that, it appears we are up at Madison Square Garden.

MSG NEWS

Preseason Edition:

Maxim Shalunov will be in Hawks camp. Skating under the radar since the WJC tournament where he was suspended one game for a crosscheck that rode up into the face of a Slovakian defender, Shalunov had a decent rookie tournament and is slated to go to the main Blackhawks camp at age 20. Selected in the 4th round, many questions continued to circle regarding the well built Russian's willingness to come to and stay in North America. This is the first season since the draft that he is not under contract, and some of his icetime in previous contracts was playing against the grown men of the KHL.

More on Maxim as camp progresses, but in Rangers territory, we are glad we hung onto this prospect, as the 6'3 190 pounder has the size, hands, skating and overall hockey sense to make a big impact in the GML.

Just throwing this out there, I'm re-listening to GTDs podcast right now, Episode 6 (because I hadn't finished it the first time through).

Had to pause several times to hear what you guys said after Squeak's "I'm Batman" voice, because Jill can't stop laughing at the impression.

She also thinks that Mike sounds like Jesse Eisenberg. And personally, after knowing you as 'Squeak' for so long, I'm surprised at how low your voice is. :P

maybe good news for the blues ..well this would be fine

Dalton Prout (abdomen) might be able to return before the end of the preseason. Prout underwent surgery in mid-August. He had seven points and 25 penalty minutes in 28 games with Columbus in 2013.

Bergenheim may be not ready though

Sean Bergenheim skated with other NHLers Monday in an informal practice at Saveology.com Iceplex. He said he's still not completely over the groin issue, which resulted in hip and abdomen surgeries, that kept him playing in the 2013 campaign once the lockout was settled. "I've talked to coaches and everybody here," said Bergenheim, who won two medical grievances against the Panthers to receive his full salary. "It's like nothing has ever happened. I can only control myself. For me, I'm really happy to be here. I have no hard feelings. Business is business. That's what it is. What I'm gong to do when I get on the ice is I'm going to play as hard as I can for the Florida Panthers. That's all I really want to do." Florida GM Dale Tallon said last month that he's eager to get Bergenheim back into the fold, but the Finnish winger may not be medically cleared by the time training camp starts.

One thought I did have though.

"We're still working on a sign off"

It's reached the point where that should actually be the sign off. :P

I will be out of town from Sept 16-27, but will respond to dms etc.

Given this:

Assign: The Phoenix Coyotes assign D Mike Weber to Portland.

Recall: The Phoenix Coyotes recall D Frank Corrado and F Ondrej Palat

(just switch Weber and Corrado, and Palat can be 13th F for now)

This move is being done to ensure that we do not have to place Weber on waivers while we wait for the season to start.
