[Proposal] Canucks Need a Scoring Winger!

Recommended Posts

In order for the Canucks to get back to Elite status they'll need to score around 256 goals and limit to 200 goals against.

With D.Sedins reduction in goal production as well Burrows, May Ray is no longer where are the goals going to come from, the defence? this team needs 2 things before the season starts.

1. Scoring Winger

2.#1 Puck Moving Defenceman

The likely hood of these needs being met in one trade are unlikely so I'm proposing two seperate deals.

In order to get something we'll have to give up something and with the Sabres in a Partial to full rebuild mode going on they are looking to deal Vanek.

Trade #1:

To Vancouver

Vanek- Cap hit 7.2mil/year

M.Foligno- Cap hit 900k/year

To Buffalo

Edler- Cap hit 5 mil/year

Schroeder-Cap hit 1 mil/year

2nd rd pick 2014

Buffalo does this because they would love to have Edler. Now they can move Tyler Myers for a serious bounty. It might cost us a little more because of Foligno.

Trade #2:

To Vancouver

Del Zatto

To New York:

Burrows

We do this trade because our new coach loves Del Zatto and Rangers to this because Burrows and Brassard will be amazing together. This is the perfect deal for both teams.

With the Sedins playing with a legit first line winger you can expect D.Sedin to get at least 35 goals, Vanek pushes 45 goals and Henrik 20. That's 100 goals right there.

Kesler with these two powerful wingers now will have room to do as he wills. 35 goals for Kes, 20 for Foligno and 20 for Kass. 75 goals from that line.

3rd line will get us 35-45 goals so average it out to 40.

4th line maybe 20 goals.

leaving our defence to get 21 goals, that's achievable between Garrison and Bieksa. Add 10 from Del Zatto and 8 from Hamhuis and this team will have an Elite offence again.

We just have to hope for a re-invigourated Loungo...

Lol you're not getting del Zotto for burrows. Why would they trade a top young d-man for an aging winger?

Also buffalo is re-building, if they're going to part ways with vanek and Myers, they would want some blue chip prospects and picks. What good would Edler and Schroeder do for them?

I like the idea of getting Foligno, but there's no way they're getting rid of him. He made Kassian expendable and losing him makes the team even softer. Plus, there's no space for Schroeder with a similar yet more established player in Ennis, Hodgson, or Grigorenko, all young and looking to keep their spots.

With ten of our "core" players having a NTC or NMC and not being able to do anything with Booth due to his health status, the chance of any major trade involving them is near zero. Time to get use to what we have. Hopefully Booth rebounds and our youth can surprise and contribute.

Knowing this kind of makes me wonder why I keep checking CDC? Hope I guess!
