Offensive Threat
My parents owned a house in Panorama ridge and then moved to the shannon hills area of Cloverdale. These are all $700k+ homes around there so its nice neighborhoods. Very safe and clean areas.
ronthecivil
The whole peninsula is commonly referred to as White Rock by all residents. In any case, South Surrey > White Rock. It's just that White Rock is more differentiated than "South" Surrey. People automatically think of Surrey when they hear South Surrey.

kazin!
Only advantage of living in White Rock itself is getting the year long parking pass for the beach. But you end up paying more in property taxes. I like Cloverdale as well. Only problem with both areas is they are (super) far from Skytrain (though White Rock and the 351 are not too bad if you want to go downtown) so unless you work in the area you have one hell of a commute to deal with (that I most certainly do not miss). CamTheCanuckFan
Screw Surrey, Delta is where its at. I've lived here for 20 years, no crime, it's quiet, everyone talks to everyone, everyone will say hi to you whether you're walking your dog or taking a jog. Sunshine Hills is the best neighborhood in the Lower Mainland HANDS DOWN, oh and John Garret lives here, regularly run into him at grocery store and whatnot. /end thread

Dion Phaneuf
Problem with Panarama ridge is there's hardly anything but a couple of strip malls there. And I have seen plenty of ghetto types in Panarama ridge.

Pouria
Surrey isn't a bad city, Fraser Heights, much of Guildford, Eastern parts of Newton, Fleetwood, Panorama Ridge are all very nice places. The one area that isn't a very nice place is Whalley.

EB²
Haha, nope. But when I moved here from Burnaby I had a huge culture shock. And the ignorance there was staggering. "Yooo, buddy, I'm like half brown and half Muzzie yo." It's its own little self contained bubble divorced from reaity. McGuire and Quan are awesome though, I still go and visit them from time to time.

Electro Rock
I'm in Sewer-y right now, what a trashy dump it remains. The Cloverfield monster could spend all day destroying it and only do $7 damage!

BoKnows53
As far as crackheads/drug addicts and bums all over the place, Surrey has way less of those than Vancouver. Too many asians-wanna be gangsters and white hipsters in Van these days.
