(Article)NHL goalie rankings: Is Luongo still elite?

Lundqvist is the top guy. Niemi had amazing numbers last year and Howard was solid. Rask and Crawford proved themselves in the playoffs after solid regular seasons. Boborovsky is the only reason the Jackets got close to the post season. Quick can put the Kings on his back when he's hot. Holtby is underrated and solid as well. I would honestly put Luongo behind those guys in terms of starting goalies at this stage of his career.

Rinne and Price will likely bounce back from off years this season as well.

There is a lot of very good goaltenders in the NHL which is part of the reason Gillis was unable to move Lou at the deadline.

Hahaha Luongo and legend in the same paragraph? hahaha. Come on man.. Luongo used to be a top 5 but he's fallen off considerably and his multiple choke jobs in the playoffs proved that.I would take a guy like Lehtonen or Backstrom over Luongo anyday.

LOL. What has Backstrom done in this league for you to say you'd take him over Luongo? The guy is old and injury prone and to say you'd take him over Luongo is laughable

What's even funnier is that you would also take Nabokov, aka the one who got absolutely lit up in the playoffs over Luongo. Your last two posts have proven you are nothing more than a troll and know nothing about hockey.

Really? I can see the merit of the rest of these names, but I would not put these guys ahead of Luongo. Kipper has been pretty average for two seasons now, not really starter material if he even plays this year.

Schneider has proven he is capable of being a starting goaltender. He will be the starting goaltender for the NJ Devils. Schneider is a top 15 goalie in the NHL.

Luongo is not a legend.

I know you hate Luongo, as you bash at every turn and love that Ginger in now a red Jersey but.... What has Schneider done in the last 3 years to warrant him a higher spot than Lu??... Oh!!! Right.,.. NOTHING

Pavelec is inconsistent

Nabokov.. really? Did you see the playoffs?

Kipper retired..

Howard is not top 15..

Niemi isn't top 5.

Your list proves you're a Schneider fan boy..

Why don't you just save us all some time?

Only goalies I would want in my net over Lu is Lundqvist or Quick. Other than that no one could replace Luo... Schneider has proved nothing and that's why he was traded to once again be a back-up behind a legend.

What has Luo done to be a "legend"? I mean the guy is good but he hasn't won pretty much anything in the NHL.

AHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAH.He doesn't even have a cup and he's going to be ahead of Hasek, Roy, Brodeur or the countless other goalies much better than him in history? AHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Take a look at his statistics and averages, He's going to pass Hasek in 2 years and is right behind him in all-time SV% also, If you don't have Broduer as #1 and Roy as #2 best goalies all time... You need to shake your head out.

Luongo is on par to be the 3rd-4th most winning goalie of all time, be ~5th in shutouts and also save another injury, will be the 3rd Goalie of all time to reach 1000GP.

Learn your god damn hockey before you slander someones post.
