Honky Cat Posted November 9, 2015 Share Posted November 9, 2015 We have basically no defense without Tanev and Sbisa.Thats probably why Gillis used to get 9 d-men that could play....At the beginning of this season, a lot of peeps on these boards predicted that we would be playing with fire ,if any two of the top 4 D went down. The twins, Prust, Hansen, Dorsett, and burrows stay?and Tanev. I think he is becoming a vet now. The rest are only valuable for what they can bring but will not be part of any future success. I don't think many of our "core" are seen as all that valuable outside Vancouver. There are a number of expiring contracts this year (Hammer, Vrbata, Bartkowski) and I expect Benning will try to move them at the trade deadline. Edler apparently refuses to waive his no-trade clause so not sure Benning can convince him it's best to change his mind.
