avelanch
When are we bringing to the AHL? when are we bringing what to the ahl? if your asking about Rodin, he's joining the wolves this season
DarthNinja
You can't tell anything in terms of his size by the picture... Plus he's only benching about 195 in the picture.

Benching 195 (looks more like 200 to me with the 2.5's) for a 20 year old hockey player with his body frame is actually pretty darn good if you ask me. What I'm wondering is whether or not putting the stopper pads on his chest are part of the development training? Typically athletes are taught to touch the bar to the chest and fully lock out the arms for a real "full rep", which is really considered as proper form so I was curious to see that. Always easier to lift more when the bar doesn't go all the way down so this might be the dev plan but they are the experts and I'm a gym rat so I'd love to hear their theory! b-mo
obviously his arms are going to look like that while he has 200 pounds of weight on the bar. thats not to say i dont think he got bigger. but a picture of him bench pressing this year, and a picture of him in a sweater last year isnt really a great comparison. Jaku
I'm glad to hear of the improvements, maybe he is a diamond in the rough? Hopefully he can only improve from here.

IceJava_
Bench press isn't key though for someone like him. It would be more effective on a defenseman who is constantly pushing players out of the way. You use those muscles much more. Of course your chest muscles are big so it helps add overall weight by developing them more but it's not something you necessarily need to develop big time. Psycho_Path
he's been to the previous 2 prospects camps (or rather the mid-summer development camps, which is what I was referring to and what starts next week)... this will be his 3rd Ah, I wasn't sure, my bad. Either way he'll be playing with them in the prospects tourney, so it doesn't hurt.

micgao
HockeyDB lists him as 5'11 and 174 and they're usually pretty accurate and up to date. Edited July 2, 2011 by micgao
Joel Heyman
I was looking through the web to see how tall he was during the draft and he was 5'11 174 in 2009. Let's hope hes upped it a bit as OP says. http://www.crashingthegoalie.com/2009/06/27/nucks-second-rounder-anton-rodin/ Edited July 2, 2011 by Hansen

VancouverStyle
Any chance Rodin makes the big club this year? Or does he need a year or two in the AHL first?
Peter Gunn
Seems he's one of our top prospects along with Hodgson and Schroeder.
