Two terrific young prospects who will most definitely have bright futures in the league. Not sure what the GM @Monty is thinking there, he must have something against players of Hab Descent. An update to this rumour, which was very true. It appears as though both deals will no longer happen. They were both contingent on the other going through, and unfortunately one GM hasn’t been on to respond in over a week in regards to Kotkaniemi, so the other deal has been lost. That said, Kotkaniemi and Brook are terrific players to have for the future, so I’m happy not to burn my future to “maybe” win now.

I believe it is unlikely the Pens are willing to trade Granlund and his team friendly contract that has his him locked up until 2022-23, but they have been listening... We had hoped Mikael would be a big part of our future which is why we initially took on the risk of signing him to a longer term deal. He most certainly has proved us right in recent times. Given that we love him and have also made an effort to sign his brother Markus, he will not be made available for trade.

Canuck Surfer
Well? Being completely honest; we never anticipated Matthew Tkachuk being this good. He's been fantastic for us! He's in company, ahead of many in fact, with Crosby, Taylor Hall, Malkin, Ovi, Stamkos. And this league does not even count hits. 1

Tony Romo
I have a complaint about section 5.5 of the CBA. Nothing should be official until it’s accepted in the trade PM... in real life it’s not a contract until the offer and acceptance is infer seal. I’m assuming seal in our case would be the trade call PM

Canuck Surfer
LOL, to start the day Tkachuk had a 45 point lead on Pettersson for team lead in Minny. 2 ours 52 minutes after the singing of the anthems; just 18 points! Wonder if MT can keep his pace with Elias? Oh yeah. Goligoski had 3 assists as well. We had 3 players tonight and scored 46 fantasy points. Ridiculous. Thanx, I'm done now. Nail
To answer @Tony Romo's question from yesterday, the backing out of trade policy was set into place early into this league's history, as there were a number of former GMs who used this tactic in order to gain leverage and squeeze out every last cent of value possible in a bidding war between multiple other teams. Right now, I'm confident in our group of GMs that none of these shenanigans will happen ever again, but the rule has always stayed as a precaution incase something were to happen in the future. After talking to Romo last night, I do realize that there is a grey line for our current rules, as wording such as "I think I'll do something like" and "I'll do this" may not mean much for other conversations, but in trade talks mean the world. Since the wording may not be as clear as possible, I'd be willing to alter this rule effective immediately if the rest of the league were to be fine with it. The current wording states the following: Quote We have a zero tolerance for backing out of trades. If you agree to a trade in any sort of PM (trade talk PM or trade call PM) or on any messaging app that the league uses (Kik or Discord), it is your obligation to have the trade processed. If a GM feels that another GM is trying to back out of a trade, please contact Nail and add him to your PMs with the other GM. Nail will then use his discretion and determine if the other GM accepted the trade or not (please keep in mind that some words may imply “accept” to some GMs and don’t imply it all to others). There will be consequences if a GM gains a reputation for backing out of trades. Should the league want to, we can change this to: Quote A trade must be accepted in an official trade call PM for it to be deemed official, any talks inside of a trade talk PM do not mean a trade is official until it is accepted in a trade call PM. I'm totally fine with whatever is easiest for everyone else, feel free to provide feedback to this issue in the thread. Whichever option has more GMs vouching for by next week is what we will follow immediately.
