Drakrami
Ha ha-- you capduimp 10million on them and you expect 2 top A prospects coming back...? And I have never seen a trade where a team takes on 19million of salary like that. More so after COVID. They want to be much smarter in their spending. Don't think ownership will allow them to take cap dumps. Boeser is a 5.75M cap hit and will have to be qualified at 7.5M. Would think that they'd just go to market and find a scorer at about 6M and keep their prospects and let Vancouver just deal with their poor contracts. Clearly that is why they are only giving up Jokiharju + Thompson. I consider Joki a top prospect, but in who's world is Thompson considered a top prospect?! This would actually make BUF pretty competitive right now. And the additions of BB & JV are a perfect fit for their young core of Eichel, Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Cozens and Dahlin. BUF roster for next season: Skinner Eichel Boeser Olofsson Staal Reinhart Rieder Sutter Virtanen Girgensons Lazar Okposo (Mittelstadt) Dahlin Risto McCabe Montour Davidson Miller (Samuelsson) Hutton, Ullmark

Boeser has to be included in any trade to hopefully appease Eichel a bit. Vancouver is not doing much this year coming. And they have Podkolzin and Hollander coming I would definitely concentrate on getting Dahlin even if it cost Hughes as long as the return was equitible, IMO Dahlin has much more upside than Hughes, he is much better defensively. For Buffalo they get an offensive minded Dman that can run their pitiful PP and a sniper in Boeser that should put them into a playoff spot Vancouver will get another stud dman and maybe some picks or a prospect, maybe Mittelstat. Boeser only scored one more goal than Virtanen and he played way more on the PP and averaged almost 5 min more icetime. 20 goals can be replaced but top notch defense men play and retain value for years The cost of Boeser would be the 20 to 25 goals, a younger right winger and fan happiness but the return in just his departure would his pre-covid contract going, the 8.25 mil raise that he needs at the end of the deal and his immediate 5.8 mil cap hit. That is just Boeser going and that 8.25 cap hit in a flat cap world is monumental, over 10% of the cap limit and the team would still have Pettersson, Hughes, Horvat and Miller to resign within a year. Have to think longer term in a flat cap. Edited October 10, 2020 by Lazurus
