We paid for the BC Place roof though, didn't we?

Don't remind me. Especially since the Whitecaps offered to build their own stadium, with grass by Waterfront Station. It would have been 25,000 expandable to 30-40,000.

And not cost the taxpayers a dime. The Lions could have easily been a tenant.

Federal Government, through Transport Canada wouldn't allow the development.

Reall shame, that stadium would fix  a lot of problems.

Better venue and would possibly lead to BC Place getting knocked down/blown up and re developed for housing or another hospital area.

Didn't help the Gastown residents thought it would bring football hooligans every game day. Ugh.

Real shame we didn’t get that new open air stadium for soccer and football on the waterfront.  We got lots of new bike lanes though!
