Good question!   Perhaps to lure people in from way out, down in the back of the valley beyond the edge of the developed city limits - with one of "their own"???

Simple answer: Hometown kid, who was a top draft pick. But your right, in no way did he earn the banner due to his play on the ice

“Shotgun Jake” was a big thing, too. Even for someone that didn’t bother with actually shotgunning anything, it was still at the very least entertaining. Helped make him more popular than he would have been otherwise.

To be honest, I still don't see how this is that much of an issue. If people care that much about a stupid banner they need to get outside more. lol

Now that we know Jake "The Ripper" will be fleeing the country to Siberia, just curious if anyone knows if we have an extradition treaty with Russia in case Jake is convicted for his "ALLEGED" Rape case and sentenced to prison, or can he serve his time out in a Russian Gulag instead?
