hammertime
I took some time this morning to pour over my old draft lists and compare notes. 2014 JB Pick: Jake Virtanen My Pick: I didn't hate the Virtanen pick at the time. The fixation on trying to find that prototypical 1st line PWF for the Sedins was still ripe. I liked Ritchie that year bigger nastier better goal scorer so I thought. JB Pick McCann My Pick I remember screaming my head off at the TV for Barbashev that year. JB Pick: Thatcher the snatcher My Pick I don't remember I think I was hoping Lemieuix was gonna be there. 2015 JB Pick Brock Freaking Boeser My pick: Noah Juulsen Now we have both JB galaxy brian'd me. 2016 JB Pick Olli Juolevi My Pick Sergachev was my guy all the way that year. 2017 JB Pick Elias Pettersson My Pick Elias Pettersson Though I would have also been happy with Mittelstadt I'm glad we have the former. JB Pick Kole Lind I remember thinking who???? My Pick Nick Hague was so painfully obviously the guy to take there I thought. Then the whole why is no body taking Kole Lind smart food thing came out and I felt like an idiot. JB Pick Jonah Gadjovich MY Pick I didn't really have a horse here maybe Joni Ikonen. I was really happy with the Jonah pick though. 2018 JB Pick Quinn Hughes there was no doubt JB Pick Jett WoooOOOOOOO!!! I loved this draft JB freaking finally drafted a RHD 2019 JB Pick Vasilia Potsloveya My Pick I really wanted Newhook or reach for the 15-20 ranked Seider that year. Turns out Det liked Seider even more. I really did not think Podkolzin would make it to us he was a top 5 ranked pick so I hadn't been paying close attention to him. I was thrilled with the pick. JB Pick Nils Hoglander. I remember watching this draft with a Jets fan buddy and telling him the Jets should take Nils at 20 so when we got him at 40 I was beyond stoked. 2020 Ummm ya. 2021 JB Pick The thrilla Danila Klimovich My Pick Alexi Heimosalmi I'm really happy with the Klim pick but Heimosalmi was 100% my guy there. For the record Jack Bar 1 pick after ours in the 5th round seems like a whiff I had him in the late 2nd round. But I would never stand in the way of Ian Clark getting his guy. In conclusion JB is better at drafting than some random Canuck fan off the street. But the gap isn't that wide lol.

Why should the bank manager deal with stocks when he has a whole staff specialising in that area. It’s just ridculus and it’s not arguing for arguings sake. You do know the buck stops at the top? The best managers have the finger on the pulse all the time. In ALL parts of their company. Drafting is one of the most important aspects of his duties... good drafting can balance the books, merchandice, and most importantly bring fans back in the seats, maybe ultimately win your franchise silverware... if you are good at scouting, why would you not utilize your skill at your job. If your bank managers speciality is stocks, why would he turn a blind eye towards the stock market? If his employees fail, he fails, so I'm pretty sure they'd keep an eye up on all the major deal and plans for the bank.

If the manager isn’t capable of finding the guys that is better in stock then him he shouldn’t be a bank manager. That is what a manager does. Find the right people to scout and trust their opinion because the Gm hasn’t time to scout himself.
