KKnight
With the JT contract coming for below what I thought he was going to get. I was thinking about our Cap structure that starting to take shape. What does Bo come in at? In my opinion getting these contracts handled before the season are crucial. Cap is going up next off-season and last thing we need is Bo asking for 8 and then losing Miller for nothing, because he asked for 9 or higher. These contracts could very well set us up for big moves from teams that overleveraged dollars in their star players. What do you think we re-sign Pete for next off-season? Miller - 8 over 7 Bo - 6.75 over 8? Hughes - 7.850 over 5 OEL - 7.260 over 5 Demko - 5 over 4 Brock - 6.650 over 3 Mikheyev - 4.75 over 4 I for one am starting to like our salary structure. Unlike a team like Calgary who gives 10.5 to Huberdeau until he's 38 and 7 per for Kadri until he's 39. We have a young up in coming team, with some key veteran pieces, but once we rid ourselves of Dickinson and Myers. We're in decent shape to be aggressive next off-season. What do you think? 1 1
Phil_314
If they could somehow Houdini their way out of this cap bind (lose Dickinson and Myers without taking back major salary or giving up assets, bonus points if they can sell Pearson) we'll be in amazing shape. The top-9 forwards will be strong, goaltending is set and all we'll need to do is sign a replacement for Myers and Schenn who would be expired by then too.

Once we drop Myers our D is going to be pretty soft except Schenn but hey Vancouver loves it's soft as butter whimp teams that get beat up and turfed out first round.. that was so much to watch a great seasonal team do great then get it's a$$ handed to them after that! That was sooooo much fun to switch to watching the playoffs at that point and pick second fave team to cheer for! Woot!!! Seriously? SMH!!! Might as well offer up Demko to get beat on, because we know it WILL happen. Nothing has changed, a wimp D that can't protect it's goalie will do nothing but ask opposing teams to take advantage of it. You mean Canucks bush league army writers? I go and read that when I need a good laugh.. then I go and try to find something not so stupid to read by real writers. However not much luck in Vancouver, hardly anyone around Vancouver can write a something worth reading and it was funny as hell when Allvin mocked the made up b.s. of stupid media questions and assumptions. Nothing new in Vancouver though, I wish Bobby McK would write articles here. I'd love to be able to read things without starting to laugh once in awhile. Half the CDC could write articles better than the media morons here. I love when Bruce himself mocks it and they don't seem to take his mocking seriously enough to give their heads a shake and think before they open their yaps. If Quinn can make the adjustment to playing his offside, that opens us up to make an additional to get a gritty LHD, which is car easier than RHD. I would say our forward group is grittier than last year, with the additions of Joshua, Lazar and Mikheyev. Not to mention Podkolzin is a gritty winger coming in to his own, Miller and Pearson are fairly gritty wingers as well. Bo isn't exactly a push over either.

I would love to see if they could acquire Provorov from Philly if that were the case. He needs a fresh start and were starting to build a bit of a Russian contingent on this team. I think he would be an absolute beast of an acquisition. Having a D Core of Hughes, OEL and Provorov is pretty damn good.
