Chmelevski on Sharks' Message to Him, Barracuda Win 5-1 | San Jose Hockey Now

Sharks top 20 prospects after the draft and free-agency:

1. William Eklund - Had a bounceback year offensively after a bit of a rough D+1 season. We'll continue to bring him along slowly but expect he'll see stretches up with the big club this year.

2. Liam Ohgren - Took him some time to acclimate to pro hockey, but by the time he came back from World Juniors he was a staple on Djurgarden's top line and on the scoresheet. Looking forward to seeing what he can do with a full season in SHL and hopeful he can make the jump the following season.

3. Sasha Chmelevski - At just 23 he emerged as one of the best all-around centers in the KHL last year. To our great dismay he extended for another year with Salavat Yulaev but we're optimistic he dominates that league this year and comes back the following year ready to jump right in and do damage.

4. Logan Mailloux - Would have to be considered the best defense prospect in our system right now, and our highest ranking new addition.. A bit of a project as he's well behind in his development compared to other prospects his age due to a lot of games lost the previous couple years.

5. Gavin Hayes - Has been variously compared to Nathan MacKinnon and Zack Kassian. The truth will lay somewhere in between but we're confident he'll be an impact player for us down the road. Was somewhat inconsistent in the OHL this year but went on a couple of torrid stretches, including 13 goals in his final 9 games of the regular season.

6. Bryce McConnell-Barker

7. Vadim Zherenko

8. Aram Minnetian

9. Adam Beckman

10. Topias Vilen

11. Jake Richard

12. Noah Laba

13. Aaron Pionk

14. Jeremy Hanzal

15. Oskari Salminen

16. Nick Cicek

17. Ethan Haider

18. Curtis Douglas

19. Joel Nystrom

20. Frederik Dichow
