Jr  has a proven record and no doubt has input. Allvin not so much.  Defending either ones  stupidity puts you in the minority. Fact.

Don’t you remember we have fans here that was willing to give Miller 10 mill for 10 years?
It’s a steel… Give Allvin some credit.

Is a top 4 rhd going to help those current slumping players all of a sudden play better too? Are they going to help them finish their checks and play less lazily too? This is far bigger than that.

Adding a defensively responsible dman with a great outlet pass in Severson for example solves MANY issues this team has especially on the breakout. And in the defensive end. Does significantly more than addin a letter to someone elses jersey. Absurd this even has to be explained to someone.

These two sentences do not need to be linked.

AS in-just because some posters were willing to go 10 for 10, does not mean the team did a great job getting the guy for $8 for 7 years.

He’s on the team and a big part of the leadership group, so why aren’t they now? See you MASSIVELY overrate a letter on a jersey.

This has been Bo's team for a long time. Do know if Schenn and Bo are on the same page? Maybe you can explain why the team does not play a full 60 minutes or doesn't stick up for their players then?

Have JT and EP played together on a line this year?

If we ended up trading Horvat, this team might as well trade almost anyone as we would have NO Centers with top 6 ability to play with EP for example. For whatever reason EP still can NOT improve his FO% and if they team isn't willing to bring in a FO specialist coach should we not put EP and JT back together and let JT take the draw and then allow EP to play C post faceoff??

Could there be an issue between JT and EP and 1 of or both of them not wanting to play together for reasons only known to them...if true of course I am just spitballing!

If the Canucks don't pair up JT and EP post Horvat trade or him walking as a FA dare I say then maybe the Canucks should look to deal EP and get a nice return for him.

Nobody knows what this GM will do with the team from now till the deadline with Horvat or any player for that matter but if they do trade Bo I think it is a must to get a RHD who is young and could be paired to play with Hughes. We need to get Hughes a long term D partner who can fit his style of play, be good defensively and it someone hits or goes after Hughes the player must be willing to stand up for Hughes be it hitting, confronting the player verbally after the incident or the old school way by dropping the gloves.

Maybe the Canucks can get lucky and have BC born Jake Livingstone sign with the Canucks and maybe he could turn out to be a D partner for Hughes...I have no idea on what type of D Livingstone is I am just bringing his name up as he is a local kid and sounds like he will be a TOP College FA and the Canucks will hopefully be in on him when that time comes.

It seems like there is dysfunction with the players, if the players were unhappy how the coach was treated by what JR has said then they would all go out and play a hard 60 minutes every single game and sadly I just don't see that. So is the Miller and Schenn thing actually a thing?? Is the Captain not being signed a distraction to the team? Do the players not trust the style of hockey they are told to be playing by the coach or do they think they don't have an even balanced roster to achieve it? The Canucks PK has been terrible for 2 years

Leading the league in fights and even Pearson has stood up for teammates 3 times this year so your narrative is false.

Agree, but pressure was on management so they managed to get a fairly fair deal.
Not the best but fairly close.

7,5 for 6 years would definately have been a steel.

I have seen Boeser get slammed on to the boards, Petey body slammed, Hughes hammered many times. Kuz was hit pretty hard recently and Garland on a regular basis. Podz was the most recent. I don't think its false at all.

The Canucks PK has been terrible for 2 years meaning Demko standing on his head last year or him play subpar so far this year has made ZERO difference for the teams overall PK!

And this year the fight numbers reflect that they’re not letting these slide. And the hits you described were clean hits. No need to fight after those, fights after clean hits are pathetic.

sorry I meant to edit the end of my post and I guess i just quoted myself...sorry everyone. My point I made was Demko playing outstanding last year didn't make the PK any better than subpar Demko this year and the PK...Takes the whole team to buy in to the right kind of PK style to be better NOT just a Goalie, stop blaming Demko people!

Actually I did you just don’t like the answer. Captain is not the teams issue.

So, the Captain has no say in how much effort the team puts forth on a nightly basis or whether anyone should stick up for the smaller inexperienced players then? I actually remember seeing when a Captain does lead his team by example, and they followed. I have also seen where a Captain never hits, never sticks up for his fellow players and doesn't give 110% every night too.

One of the rare times that a single player, goes on his own? Kessler going "Beast Mode" in 2011.

Who did that before him? Linden in game 7 of the SCF in 94.

No, I think the Captain IS A TEAMS ISSUE.

You overrate a letter on a jersey. This team needs a shake up, not a new captain.

Why not both? Trade Bo, shake up the team and get a new captain. It’s just total speculation but I have a hunch we’d be a better team if we traded both Bo (too passive) and Miller (too sulky), two of the main leaders on this team, for some young roster players and prospects. Change the vibe in the room and start coming together as a team. I could be way off base and I’m sure I’ll hear all about it lol.
