Lemiux believes in rebuilding and Aquaman doesn't.  Plus, do you know of JRs' history as GM ?

Because Lemieux knows it’s almost impossible to win the Cup without the key core guys acquired in the top 5 picks.  We have one now with Petey.

Yeah, he did a great job building Carolina into a cup winning team. He didn’t just inherit and ride Sid and Geno.  He’s also far from a yes man.

Maybe this time he wanted the challenge of turning a team around as fast as he can.

Not to sure why he came here but hope he pulls a rabbit out of his hat.

Enough with the kool aid garbage.

Trading a key core piece will be taking us away from the “win now” Aquilini direction.  So that’s got to be Petey, Hughes, Demko, Miller, or Bo.  If we see anyone of those guys traded then Alf will be excited about a new (and better) future for our team.  Moving Boeser or Garland or Schenn isn’t changing direction.

Fine but you are STILL obviously, seeing things from a very rosy POV.

There is actually a middle ground. I’m also not going to jump to conclusions on either side literally 1 year to inheriting this mess.

Your pessimistic view is just as flawed as your rosy view you accuse me of with all due respect.

I think he’s going to drop a bomb quick like. Boeser for an expiring contract. Bo gets resigned and kozmenko walks. You heard it here folks.

It would be if we can trade Brock,Myers and a couple more.

We would have cap room and might get a decent player back.

If you really want to discuss JRs' history as GM - the type of owners he was working for has to be included in the discussion.  Ofcourse, it wasn't just the two generational forwards cause you forgot Letang and how where they acquired ? Cause it wasn't JR, who drafted them; and his drafting record with Pens, was Gillis like. As for Carolina he did build up that core, MAINLY though the draft but he had an owner that left him alone during his whole tenure

What win now moves have been made? So far zilch. He’s beefed up our top 9 and acquired 2 depth dmen and one was a throw in contract for a cap dump.

None of those moves are “win now”

650 was talking that the Stinky Cow Pies were interested in Brock.  And the return would be an expiring contract if similar cap - Lucic.

Maybe you are right.

But with crappy d with players healthy we can still be a decent team so who knows what's going to happen but hope it's big and helps us.

He’s also not taking a job without autonomy, so there’s also that.

He looks to be the most expendable player with the least fallout attached.

What?  Those are all “win now” moves.  How old are the guys brought in?  Are they young guys who have ceiling to climb to, or are they already developed and at their ceilings?  Describe one move that isn’t “win now” and explain why.  I’m trying to see your point of view, but not getting it.  So provide specifics to support what you’re suggesting.

Again prove you’re opinion with evidence.  Because during this year of JR all the evidence is actually to the contrary.  He is 100% following Aquilini’s “win now” direction.

Well free agents can only be unrestricted at 27, 26 if they started at 18. But an unproven fwd from Russia, a third liner and a dman that was a healthy scratch for 2 weeks are not win now moves. At all.
