He never had hockey sense, and drive. It pains me to see guys like Jake waste all that talent, when there was guys like Rick Rypien that would do anything to compete and play.

He needed a good mentor, he was such a gifted player, ultimately it’s on him but I truly believe the coaching staff failed him as well. I don’t believe they tried to develop him, just punished him too much. I always thought Green caused a lot of damage too this team and Virt was one of the casualties.

Yah. 
 

Jake seemed incapable of making the necessary sacrifices to become a proper pro.
 

All the missing elements were between the ears.
