  1. I think it was a penalty, but suspension worthy? Not a chance. Not saying it as a fan that thinks the league is against us, saying it as fan of the game. It was not a suspension worthy hit, thankfully. But it was a dirty hit and deserved a penalty. At least a 2 minute minor, since Sutter wasn't injured. Dunno if I'd say it deserved more than that. Also don't think it's comparable to the Wilson hit you posted. Wilson looks like he's actively trying to injure the other dude and had all day to not hit him. Blais on Sutter is just him being a reckless fool. Sutter got shoved and got right back up. Which tells me the force wasn't super high, but still a scary hit and the refs should have called something. But not only did they not call the board, they gave Beagle an extra 2 minutes in the scrum.
  2. Looks like he's contemplating the impending nightmares he's gonna have about 53 in blue and green. Someone call Binnington, he's crying
  3. Stech also looking back at Quinn. Stech is a bit small but the guy has alotta bite.
  4. Wish we had two Motters. I'll admit I was pretty bummed we didn't get a 2nd/3rd rounder for Vanek, but Motter has been fantastic and I am not afraid to admit I was wrong about that. As much as people wanna push Jake out, I have a hard time advocating Rooster in the lineup over anyone.
  5. Lowkey, I really like Motter's play so far. I'd like to see him on the 3rd line instead of Rooster. I haven't been a fan of Rooster's play all playoffs. A 3rd line of Motter Sutter Toffoli, 4th line of Rooster Beagle and Big Mac/Virtanen would be a really nice. There's something about Eriksson on Bo's wing that just flat out works. Bo has more freedom with Eriksson out there with him. So I agree that line should be left as is.
  6. Roussel or Jake are probably the most likely to be pulled for Toffoli. It's a good problem to have. Depth. Good point too, being the "home" team may give us more opportunities to run the 4th line more.
  7. I agree. 5 on 5 hasn't been great, but thankfully our special teams has been. I hate to say this, but I really think we need to get back to rolling 4 lines. It's tough to say that though, we are winning. Don't want to change nothing but still. The 5 on 5 play has been lacking. Wonder if getting Toffoli back would help in that regard. Pushes everyone down.
  8. A little passive aggressive, hoping for some "refs are making a mockery of the sport out there" comments.
  9. The most amazing part is how the Blues lost 12 straight to an Eastern opponent. That stat must be ancient. Likely never gonna be broken unless by some miracle they meet in the finals. Lol.
  10. He really is, guy could be sitting on a park bench and someone somewhere will be losing their sh*t about it.
  11. I think Greener is just running a shortened bench. Big Mac is playing near 5-7 minutes as well. Same with Roussel if I recall. 5 minutes of Jake is better than 5 minutes of anyone else in the press box. He played well in his few shifts. Just so happens Green's gameplan is to run 3 lines. A defensive 3rd line in Beagle, Sutter and Motter, a two way 2nd line in Horvat, Pearson, Eriksson and an offensive 1st line in Petey, Miller and Boeser. Nothing about Jake's game has been bad so far. Just so happens he doesn't fit the coach's gameplan I guess. Sucks seeing Jake and big Mac riding pine though. I like both players.
  12. What exactly is he supposed to do with 5:35 of icetime? He crunched a guy on his very first shift. We are winning. Get off his back.
  13. I took a couple years off hating on Edler. But I am genuinely dumbfounded at his bone headed turnovers.
  14. Not a fan of the fight, definitely not a fan of the officiating on that boarding and the scrum. O'Rielly goal with an assist to the refs. Shake it off boys.
  15. 3 goals in 2 games for Bo while I am wearing my black Skate Horvat jersey. Coincidence? Probably. But still pretty cool.
  16. Yeah, like I said. Dream. If we could recoup a 1st or 2nd rounder maybe we can find one in the draft. But then we'd be waiting who knows how long for them to develop.
  17. Lundkvist I like, but at 5'11 we are kind of in a need for more size, Hughes and Rathbone are both under 6'0. Juolevi is our tallest young defensman going forward. He's like 6'2/6'3. Woo for all the talk about his toughness is maybe 6'1 if he grew since his draft, which he was listed as 6'0. So for that reason I am not particularly interested in Lundkvist despite liking him as a prospect. Lets be real, all ELC defensemen are gonna be at a premium with the cap stagnating for the next few years. Hell, all ELC players period will be at a premium. It costs a lot for a good right handed d-man generally, add in cap stagnation and it'll cost even more. We need to recoup a couple more 1-3 round picks or target a d-man with our 3rd rounder this draft regardless of a BPA forward.
  18. Gillis for all his faults was smart enough to not trade a star goalie to a divisional rival. We shouldn't do that with Marky either. Yes he is 30, but that's still at least 4 years of a really good goalie giving us troubles. Besides, like everyone is saying as a UFA it makes no sense to trade for him. We have no real need for Pool party anyway. Podkolzin RIGHT NOW is better than Pool party. Lol. Lind I like more as well. That's not including the plethora of already good young RW talent we have on the roster. Boeser, Virtanen, big Mac, and Gaudette (if he can't handle center).
  19. Not sure NYI parts with him. With Boychuk slowing down and the fact they likely don't want to throw Dobson to the wolves right away Mayfield is a great piece to have. Pulock and Mayfield on the right side to slowly bring along Dobson and Bode Wilde. Toews and Leddy to hold down left side for the foreseeable future. They are looking pretty good. If they do move Mayfield to make room for Dobson/Wilde it won't be for a few years.
  20. With Jack Rathbone (5'11-6'0) also coming, I am in the find another big-ish D-man camp as well. Particularly on the right side. It would be a dream to have a Colton Parayko on this team. Or a Brandon Carlo.
  21. Greener would actually need play these players for that to happen. Big Mac had like 6 minutes of ice time last game. I don't think truculence is in Greener's gameplan. Which is weird cause apparently he was a player that played that kind of style. After game one though, I am okay not making too many adjustments. Wins a win. If it ain't broke don't fix it. But I hope he can on the fly match their physicality if the team gets pushed. But we haven't really seen that outta him.
  22. I mean, I probably would do these deals. But with Hughes on the left already with Rathbone in the pipeline. Maybe not. So, likely a hard no from both sides. On pure trade value they block your number. But it'd be hard for our side to give up that much potential depth to strengthen the LD that's already quite decent.
  23. Major Arvidsson fan, Nashville likely says hell no.
