  1. I honestly feel like the Bruins aren't getting the credit they deserve and are serious cup contenders this year.

Marchand and Bergeron have been brilliant, and they have a surplus of young talent that have been utilized perfectly by coach Cassidy (who could very well win coach of the year). Rask has also been unstoppable and is a darkhorse to vin the Vezina.

And this coming from the biggest Canucks fan around.

Every time I read something positive about the Bruins a little slide show of their consistently dirty play starts flickering in the back of my mind.

Then I decide I don't want to be in a bad mood and I think of all the times Marchand has been crushed, challenged to a fight and he turtles, or when he get speared in the nuts. And I smile.

I'm gonna smile so big the day Marchand gets KO'd on the ice. I hope it's by the next Marchand too, or a dirty little rat like Kadri. I'd say Tkachuk, but at least that kid backs up his mouth and dirty play toe to toe.

Been thinking of them in relation to our Canucks rebuild and how they've drafted in the last 3 seasons. Basically 3 years ago Sweeney was considered a dufus for some of his picks. Now here they are with those same picks now playing prominent roles in making them legit contenders again while we sit here and wring our hands hoping that out two of our highest picks can become impact NHL'ers.

      Sigh.

Many here compare us to Edmonton ( perennial failures ) and Toronto ( half century failures ) in rebuilds and now we see Boston in a complete rebuild over a shorter period of time playing the quick four line hockey of today in contrast to the three line 2011 power game with enforcers short minutes on the fourth line.

SMH. They transitioned quicker with a small good core still remaining.
