      @goalie13 he was left unprotected as a condition of Vegas taking on Reilly Smith's contract.

      I believe it was also so they could protect more defensemen.  Florida obviously didn't rate him that high.  Columbus traded him, Tampa Bay let him walk, but Florida gets all the heat for exposing him in the expansion draft.
