Nice to see Cannata play well against one of the AHL's best goalies.

Also good to see Mallet drop the gloves, and Andersson pick up an assist. I hope they can both make the team.

This was obviously far from Chicago's opening night roster, so the result doesn't really matter. Peoria had a much better lineup, dressing guys like Peluso, Grachev, and Allen.

Wolves Release Eleven

The Chicago Wolves have released forwards Riley Emmerson and Trevor Kell from training camp and assigned them to the Central Hockey League’s Missouri Mavericks.

Chicago also has released the following nine players outright from training camp: forwards John Armstrong, BRIAN BICEK, CODY CRICHTON, MATTHEW GINGERA, KEATON TURKIEWICZ, and PODGE TURNBULL and defensemen VINCE LoVERDE, DAN MAGGIO, and MATT McCREADY.

The Wolves continue their preseason slate at 7 p.m. today when they host the Rockford IceHogs at the West Meadows Ice Arena in Rolling Meadows. The team battles the Peoria Rivermen at 7 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 5 at the Triphahn Community Center and Ice Arena before concluding its camp with a contest against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Milwaukee School of Engineering’s Kern Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6.

The Wolves 19th home opener, presented by LifeSource, will be an Illinois Lottery Cup game against the Rockford IceHogs at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, at the Allstate Arena.
