I know it was a different era but Grant Fuhr won cups some years with a GAA of well over 3 in the playoffs, offense can definitely win you championships it's not always all about the goalie. If we lost those games in Boston 8-6 or 5-4 for example then sure the blame is 100% on Luongo, but 8-1, 5-2 and 4-0? that's pretty crapty offense sorry

The game, and goal scorng has changed since Fuhr played goal. Goals are harder to come by but the fact remains, Lou's GAA goes up in the playoffs while other elite goalies go down !!

they can compare whatever they want, what counts for GM's when you sign a guy is his caphit and Luongo's isn't really that high. seems like you're hinting at that he's overpaid and he's not at all with a 5.333 mil caphit

So who should be considered to be the more elite goalie ?

The one with the bigger salary or the one with the bigger cap hit?

BTW, you do understand that cap hits are fudged don't you?

People whine back on forth here like they can solely place the blame on one player or another. Stupid.

ALL PARTS OF THE CANUCKS GAME CAN AND SHOULD BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE.

Luongo sucked in Boston and against LA. Yes.

The offense has managed 1.33 GOALS A GAME over the last two series.

Forget reason though. People would rather just play the blame game all day long and cry like little girls.

k well use this as an example. Ehrhoff's salary in 2012 was $10,000,000

Lidstrom's was only $6,200,000 but Lidstrom had a higher cap hit

Does this mean Ehrhoff is more elite than Lidstrom cause his salary is higher? no

I find I'm calmer watching Schneider due to his technical superiority...it instills confidence. Lou scares me , especially when we are shorthanded because of poorer mobility and rebound control.

Playing 5 0n 5 both goalies are about equal, but Schneider is far superior(supported by stats) when playing shorthanded .

And who doesn't feel better with Schneider in net in the shootout?
