misread that, and it was hilarious; then i realized my error, and the chortles ceased.
You're lucky - took my wife 3 years to train her's (before I met her) - we got a second one, and we are now at 2 years - she's still not 100% trained.
How is it possible for people to like dogs more than cats?

Seriously 3 years? Wow, I thought our old beagle was hard to train. We have 2 German Shepherds now and they have been the easiest dogs to train, they pick up on everything very quickly. The only thing we have had issues with is their desire to eat our cat.
Yes, cats do have to do doo doo to...but put them in the cat litter box just once and voila - trained...some dogs take up to 3 years to train...
Just a reminder - I love both dogs and cats - I just play the disturber when anyone disses either of them.

Both are animals. Both have their fair shares of nuisances to go along with them.
All the same to me.

no poop to pick up , no one to feed, no odor, no vacuuming the house 3 times a day , no problem to go on a trip !!!
But If I was to have a pet, It would be a cat.

cats can be anti-social and way too territorial (my friend's thought I was his/ her scratching pole)... or at the other end of the spectrum they don't want to leave your lap.
On the other hand, dogs are loyal, will play with you (cats only go for yarn/ mice... haven't tried this myself but do cats chase balls? Doubt it); of course, there are mean ones too but if I had to choose I would much rather have a nice, handsome, furry canine than a cat (plus it's funny how society keeps portraying cat owners as crazy people: TBBT Sheldon Zazzles, Crazy Cat Lady-- never heard much bad against dogs)
my cat chases a ball........ well....... sort off...... okay she runs from the ball when I throw it at her.......then sneaks around the couch and stalks it!

Have lots of cats in your house? You're the crazy cat lady from "The Simpsons."

Cats are good pets, great animals. Dogs are also great pets, and great animals.
Only realy difference I would say, having had 5 dogs, and 11 cats in my life, Dogs are far smarter. They are in some ways like 4 legged humans. They make many decisions much like people do. Cats may have the smarts as well, but out of all 11 cats I ever had, none of them ever showed me otherwise.
I'm not saying cats are dumb, I am just saying dogs are clearly smarter. Also, Cats are far more angry animals. There's a reason it's called being "catty".
And if someone comes back with the "Dogs just seem smarter because they are more obedient blah blah blah arguement...", you've clearly never owned a dog.
It seems to me that everyone who has only owned a Cat, or has had perhaps a bad experience with a Dog in some way, always loves to argue that Cats are better, smarter etc etc etc...... when it reality it's simple ignorance.
Same goes for the folks that hate cats because they had a bad experience with one once.

How anybody can hate a type of animal is beyond me.
I hate chimps.
Are you CRAZY??? Trade Green for ONE first round pick?? He's restricted after this season.... He WILL get an offer sheet for 7-8 million from a number of teams regardless if he plays another minute for us or not. That offer sheet would be worth 4 first round draft choices.
Some fans overrate their players, and then there is this guy.
