I don't know how they can bring Negan in already. The TV is show is catching up to the GN really fast and at this rate will eclipse the GN. That said, 'the end of season 7' might mean a teaser like someone watching from the bushes in the last 30s of the finale or something like that.

Thank you for making me realize how much I hate the term Graphic Novel, for some reason the term just sounds like somebody trying to hide creepy fetish porn to avoid embarrassment to me.

Regardless, does it really matter? They've only "sort of" followed the major plot points from the Comics, and they've managed to do fantastic building the Show into its own Unique universe, they will always follow the comic books major plot points, they may just have to drudge ahead on their own and create something totally unique for awhile while waiting for new Comics, although with Kirkman being so closely attached to the show, it really wouldn't be difficult for him to say "These are the ideas I have, What can we do?"

Anyways, As for Negan, I've said this from the first time I read about him; if they censor him like they did the Governor, the character will not work. I like the casting choice alot.

I'm glad they cast him as he can pull off Clean Shaven badass, and grungy long haired, bearded Prisoner, I can't wait to see all of the interactions between Negan and the Grimes' family. I'm wondering if the Saviours will help Glenn, He'll try to get away, they won't like that, they'll torture him, learn where Alexandria is, and THEN have his head bashed in out by the gate with Lucille.

It's really not that quick. 145 issues of the comics have been released. We're somewhere between 80-90. So about 7 years of comics have passed. But we're already in season 6 of the show. That means another 5-6 years of comics to go. Plus 12 new comics come out a year. It'll take like 10 years to catch up at this pace.

Even then, Kirkman writes well in advance.

As per Robert Kirkman

Robert Kirkman's updated statement to the same question in Letter Hacks of Issue 104:

I wouldn't worry about running out of material anytime soon.

I occasionally read a TWD forum and I guess I have also got caught up in the comic book and tv show colliding. Most of the fans on the forum are staunch comic book supporters so I suppose I have bought into the hype that they don't want the comic spoiled by the TV show. There really isn't many shows I can think of where there is a comic and tv show progressing at different rates. I guess the same thing applies to GOT.

Truthfully, they can do whatever they want the show and I will still watch. I will never read the comics anyways. That is why I like Fear TWD too. The options for story lines are endless. TWD doesn't have to follow the comic book and most cases, can't due to censorship.
