Coda
Argo Won? I didn't really find it better than your typical suspense thriller. What made it get the nod? What's more, it advertised itself as a true story based on real events, when 80% of the events in the film were fabricated. I've been disappointed with the quality of the movies getting Best Picture Awards as of late: Hurt Locker in 2009, the King's Speech in 2010, and now Argo for 2012. While all solid stories, none of them captured my imagination or actually challenged me in any way as a viewer. The Artist in 2011 at least had a unique Idea central to it, whether you thought it deserved the win or not.
