Canucks tied for 19th in wins. Thankfully we play in a weak division or we could easily be 27th or worse.

That's a horrible stat. Pretty crazy how things have gone downhill so quickly.

Agreed, its unbelievable how stupid some people are even suggesting goaltending was the issue tonight.

But their argument is ooh all you schnieder lovers would rail on Lou!

Actually no, most of the people on here want the canucks to win regardless of who is in net. And when the team stinks out the joint as the did in detroit, here tonight, 'so called schnieder lovers' weren't saying Oh lou cost us the game.

But it makes them feel better as you say

I think these idiots would rather the canucks lose with schnieder in net from some sort of adolescent, imbelicic vegeful attitude that their hero is not number 1 anymore.

It shows the level of maturity, intelligence, and definitely a lack of knowledge of hockey.

well said

Did you take your meds today? Every argument you've made has been against Luo. Then you go and try to play peace keeper and say its not goalies fault.

I agree as I've said earlier goaltending has never been our problem.

Overrated Gillis made this team way worse from the team that went to the finals.

Where's Salo, Erhoff, Torres, Hodgson, Volpatti.

Why is Booth and his 4+ mil cap hit still on this team!?
What a joke signing overrated Garrison to a LONG TERM deal with NTC but wont give Salo, Erhoff, Torres a bit of raise or extra year.

Erhoff is not worth what he is being paid and he left for money, thats not MG's fault
CoHo thinks he's better than a selke center, a hart center and is a whiner and Kassian will be a stud if used correctly so again not MG

Torres- yes
Volp - yes
Salo - yes
Garrison - yes
Ballard - yes
Booth - yes

So MG has made his share of errors, just don't agree with the first two

If you don't think a goalie can stop that early goal or the 4th one when the team was in range, then you need to watch more hockey. Oh, but I guess not making timely saves is only a problem if Luongo is in net. And it's only a team loss if Schneider is in net. I guess I forgot the rules somewhere.

YOU did notice the goal Backstrom allowed when Higgins shot from the goal line?!! It happens. Somehow it is almost expected other teams' goalies will let in those kinds og goals but ours never should.

Since you're so into pumping Lu's tires, how about that whiff against Calgary as a first goal. Bloody lovely. Far worse than Cory's first one tonight but it happens!

Quit turning the team's poor play in all 3 zones as a reason to pick one goalie over the other. Even if both our goalies were on top of their game, that still makes this a weak team with great goal tending that isn't going to be successful in the playoffs.

does every thread have to turn into a luongo vs schneider thread?

schneider let in a few goals, but he also made some really critical saves to try to give his team a chance to tie the game.

GOALTENDING IS THE LAST THING WE SHOULD BE WORRIED ABOUT RIGHT NOW!!!

but don't worry "Luongo Lovers" or whatever some of you would like to be called, luongo will most likely get the next game anyways, so please spare us the schneider sucks omg, luongo is much better posts to yourselves.

i would like to talk about overall team effort.....which was nowhere to be found for 50 min.

Yep this place is a joke. Anyone seriously thinking goaltending is the biggest issue hasn't been watching the same games as me. I saw a team tonight that was beaten to just about every puck. I saw a Canuck team that maybe had 5 or 6 good scoring chances all game, and that might be generous. The so called "tired" team was skating circles around us but of coarse the easiest thing to do is blame the goaltending. Checks the stats...oh they scored more than 2 goals..goaltending must of been poor... Trade them both.

I was not happy with tonights game it seems like higgins booth and kass played well, but when schroeder finally got the oppurtunity to prove himself on the 2nd line he was not good, i think my lines for the next games should look like this

Sedins-Burrows
Kassian-Higgins-Booth
Hansen-Lapierre-Raymond
Sestito-Schroeder-Weise

Canucks fans say: I'm concerned about the team and hope they pull it together.

Bandwagoners say: This team sucks! They need to do exactly what my dumb, ignorant ass says or they'll continue to be failures!! I am entitled to having a cup-winning team in my city because the world revolves around me. Wah wah wah.

Here's an analogy for you.

A manager at a paper supply company (AV) manages a bunch of amazing salesmen. But he brings nothing of substance to the company except taking the credit for the amazing employees success, Unfortunately this manager is a lot like a gum chewing Michael Scott and is a distraction therefore disrupting these salesmen from doing what they do best. So does the owner then keep a person of leadership who is holding back his business?

It's time for a change.

I played NCAA at Umass Boston so I could really care less where you played lol. You're not impressing anyone

Keep making excuses for Schneider when he plays bad and then ripping Luongo when he plays equally bad and then pretending that you are a "fan of both goalies"

lol...sure you did...

Schnieder played bad?

1. Goal 1 - 2 on 1 moving across and Parise (who is one of the most dangerous players in the league) got it off fast and in a good spot, and it found a hole. If you played anything other than waterboy at UMass there champ you'd get that

2. Goal 2 - tip in top of the crease from the backdoor coming across pass from behind the net/corner and no one touched the guy. So again, if you played anything other than waterboy you'd get that.

3. Goal 3 - one timer on a pp where the whole team was standing around (go look at that pp again, the whole 30 seconds of harlem globetrotter passing in our end, how no canuck moved or even put pressure on the puck), again one timer and screened. Again, if you played at Umass you;d get that.

4. Goal 4 well I didn't see it but if you think this game was bec of schnieder you didn't play anywhere but as umass on nhl 13 champ

5. How about the obscene oddman chances he stopped? how about the fact when it was 2-0 he held the team in shutting down 2 pp's by Minne? How about the breakaway? hmmm

go watch the game and think, and ya the highest level of hockey you've played is in the western ball hockey league c division, its pretty damn obvious.

Defense is so bad it wont hold in the playoffs even if Bieksa is back.

This deadline is make or break for Gillis.
Cup or Bust! Nothing in between ie: 2nd/conf finals will be a major failure. Last chance for sedins at cup.
Go ALL IN this deadline or blow this core up for multiple 1st rd picks this upcoming draft.

Why does he have to go maybe the defensive coach Bowness needs to go first maybe the PP coach Brown needs to go i don't know what people are expecting because for every coach that gets fired during the season usually just 1 actually has an impact on its time

Also they way people are building Ruff up you would think he would have a job already face facts he isn't going anywhere and if he does it will be at the end of the season its March 10th 24 games left to be played the regular season ends April 27th no new coach could turn any team around in that time

First place on the line and this is the egg they laid? I'd far rather cheer for a team that punishes, crashes and bangs than to cheer for a so called skilled team that looks as pathetic as the Canucks did tonight. This team is now firmly in a tailspin.

That goes against everything MG is about. He's stated multiple times he wants to follow the Detroit model and be a competitive team season after season. I don't see him emptying the cupboard for 1 run.

U do have your schneider undies on today wow bud, goal 1 was garbage a goalie does not help the team getting scored on in the first 30 seconds... ya goal 2 and 3 where bad defence 4 th goal was weak seconds after we get a goal to make it a 1 goal game.

I think it generally is all or nothing on coaches, i don't think i've seen many times where just a defensive or specialist coach is fired (if ever)...but I agree a big issue is our defensive coverage and thats Bowness...and it was a problem even in our run...

1st goal: Shot was taken from top of circle and yes nice shot but probably should have been stopped.

2nd goal: Agree no chance.

3rd goal: One timer from pass that came across the ice with no screen and went 5-hole. Again probably should have been stopped.

4th goal: Lost the post. Should have been stopped.

Now read this slowly. I am not saying its Schneiders fault. All I'm saying is that if that was Luo in net you would not have the same explanations for the goals. Schneider made some great saves and yes he gave the team a chance to win. Unfortunatley the team didn't seem to want to win tonight.
