Pessimistic About Phx Game?

Seems every year they just squeak in to play a round. Still they lose 10's of millions in the desert. Joke & a travesty.

It's in the league's/player's interest for Phx to make some playoff revenue. What an embarrassing fiasco, Bettman & co created!

Wouldn't be surprised if every Western team donates a win, and/or loser point to this sad cause, especially in the last half of the season. Hey, it affects EVERYONE's bottom line, & players especially want to see that cap continue to grow, while holding down escrow %, don't they?

Sorry if this sounds jaded/cynical; love our team, but very skeptical on business practice within the NHL.

Unless Phoenix somehow magically wins a Cup, hockey will never be big in Glendale. That's how/why Anaheim, San Jose, Tampa, Dallas, and Carolina are now somewhat successful in their own rights for hockey. Because they won a Cup, people that live there flock to see what this "Cup" is all about and then get into it... But then again, attendance is still an issue for teams in the Southeastern part of the US as well as Dallas and Phoenix so it's tough to keep attendance.. Hockey is 4th for every average American because they only care about NFL, NBA and MLB.

So tomorrow, not surprised if we play at a lethargic pace, & it looks like a Clb/Nash replay. We edge ahead & they "fight valiantly" to tie it in the 3rd. Sorta' like a game of chess with your little brother, where you begin the game with only 1 rook & 1 bishop on the back row.

The contest truly starts when the reff drops the puck for OT...

cant really specify more than the poster above..

although some of your points are valid, does your worry about officiating vs PHX really deserve a forum post?

i guess we can at least look at some evidence..

if youre referring to mike smith... it has nothing to do with phx.. he is just a plug who dives after purposefully getting in the way of skaters behind the net.

Nah Nuck, not really worried about that-but the very concept of "The 'Yotes", & their ownership is a laughable conflict of interest.

Maybe I'd undertand/accept the circumstance if it was a couple wks/months to bridge through to the end of one particular season(transitioning owners)...But no, it's evolved into a ludicrous situation for any pro sports league.

I'm not quite sure how it works, but isn't there revenue sharing to make up for teams like Phoenix?

If that's the case, then it wouldn't really matter since the majority of the major markets are in a playoff spot and would make up that lost money.
