Dan Murphy@sportsnetmurph1m

#canucks Kevin Bieksa (lower body) has been sent back to Vancouver.

This isn't a good thing at all. Makes sense though if he's not going to be playing and they want him home to get checked out before the next trip.

So no more passes to the opposing team?

Good.

Hopefully he gets better soon and it is not too serious. I don't want to see Barker or Joslin in our top 4 which you know AV will do......

Tanev, Ballard or Alberts can slot in the top 4 fine temporarily

Edited, I meant Barker....

Ballard and Alberts will not be used in the top 4. Tanev would be but honestly I think he struggles there. Barker and Joslin? Where is the GTFO clip when you need it?

The Juice is back in the fridge. Rest him up for the POs, Tanev comes back healthy and we are good to go.

There's only one game in the road trip anyways. Why not send him home? He can probably recover better there than he can hanging out in Dallas.

Why make a big deal out of nothing?

I specifically said

So it really doesn't seem like anyone is making a big deal out of this (okay, maybe TOML)

Sorry, I should have started my post off by saying I agreed.

If they were saying he was day-to-day and they left him behind to start the road trip, that might be something worth speculating on. But at face value, I don't think this is any big deal.

Players Nikolaj Ehlers have been compared too by the fan base of the Vancouver Canucks.

1 Pavel Bure

2 Markus Naslund

3 Nathan Mackkinon

4 Jonathan Drouin.

5 Jonathan Tavares

combine results.  Ehlers 5'11 162 lbs of solid rock.

Juice is the glue he may not be the best defender on the team but he's the most important to the team. Resting him is the right thing to do. even though I think our record is 1ot win - 8 losses without him this season.

I think our players need to f in stop playing injured in the middle of the season. Ryan kesler and Bieksa are the ones I am talking about. !@#$ sakes.

That is the coaching staff not the players....both of them downplayed their recoveries but both were inserted the minute AV could do so. Just because a player is cleared to play does not always mean he should. I question AV in this regard a lot over the years because he seems to be unable to cope without those two in the lineup especially in the playoffs.

Bieksa has looked like he has been playing injured for a long time now. He does his best but you can clearly see he is struggling with something that is limiting his mobility and his compete level in the corners. I think it is better to keep him out now and hopefully have him healthier for the playoffs.

Of course, it doesn't hurt that it almost seems to be a team strategy to have our D hammered relentlessly by forecheckers.

I'm not confident about Bieksa coming back for long in the playoffs. We have waited too long to rest him. He has looked off his game for a month to the extent I was thinking it was some kind of mental stress.

Because it's always a good idea to just play through injuries like this and not rest them.

Bieksa is a lot more important to this team than his defensive numbers are showing...as was made pretty evident when he was out for a few games earlier in the season.

Get well Juice, we need you!
