Here's the best quotes from the article:

"...make no mistake when it comes to this franchise, the light is dying for this group which has been together for so long and played so well in this city."

"...the core group is at the age where injuries will always be a concern so this has now pretty much become the accepted norm"

"It would take nothing short of a miracle for this Vancouver team to overcome this deficit and if you're looking at what appears to be a certain first round exit at this point, you have to wonder where this team goes from here."

"The Sedins have one more year on their contracts but thinking that they are somehow going to have enough left in the tank to consider a team centered around them with a realistic chance of winning a Cup is becoming increasingly unrealistic"

"And with Lui at this age now, the game always seems to wear on him to the point where the later it gets, the more and more pucks end up catching him by surprise"

"As this long Vancouver run of dominance runs it's course, it's going to be tough for the fan base. They came so close, but now the goal is slowly drifting away."

You think the bandwagon jokes are bad now? Just you wait, folks...once Canucks miss playoffs again, there'll be some REAL bandwagon jokes to withstand.

Honestly if its not done this year, the Sedins wont win us the cup being first liners anymore. Getting too old.
When their contracts up, I'd be fine with them retiring.
Blow the team up, from GM to 4th line.
Untouchables are Corrado, Tanev.

McDavid 2015!

A rebuild isn't necessary but the team does need a huge make over. A rebuild in the sense of staying competitive, not a fire sale and rebuilding with picks and prospects.

For once I agree with everything TG said. Except this line about it taking a miracle to win this series but that strikes me as just a heat of the moment feeling. I think in the craziness of the evening all of us felt like the season could be ending imminently at least briefly.

Nothing, this team still isn't a legitimate contender for the Stanley Cup

Agree. A few Salo-out-Garrison-in type moves with youth filling in the gaps.

No, we shouldn't get rid of the Sedins, but maybe they need to take a back seat and provide a secondary role, kind of like Trevor Linden. Give this team to Kesler.

TG has always bugged me. He may be right on this one, but he comes across as such a turd. His predictions are never on. He rags on guys even if they are playing well, as if he does not actually watch the games. He is extremely cynical and sarcastic and seems to have a big ego. He always wants to have the last word on anything Canucks related and its always negative.
Also, his voice makes me want to choke him on his best days.

I could definetly see an Edler trade happening (although he has been getting better), and a Schneider trade happening. Reason being is that this team needs offence and secondary scoring and trading Edler and Schneider would bring boatloads of that. Even though Hank is a great Captain I think its time to hand the C over to Kesler. He really showed Captain-worthy material tonight

Projected line up next year (trade Booth and Ballard for picks)

???? - Kesler - ????
Sedin - Sedin - Burrows
Higgins - ???? - Hansen
???? - Lapierre - Kassian

Hamhuis - Bieksa
Garrison - Tanev
???? - ????

Luongo
????

In my eyes drouin is overrated he can score in the qmjhl but did nothing in last two gold medal games that canada lost. Fox will be better pro than him talk to me in five yrs

ryan kesler is going to the chicago blackhawks ...       quote me on it

I listen to Tony Gallagher on the Team1040 occasionally can can't get over the fact that he has a job.

He's an idiot, and his voice is akin to nails scraping a blackboard.

well.. IF we are going to rebuild... IF.. then i'm going to say trade Schneider and get some quality prospect and 1st rounders to restock.. i mean if we are rebuilding.. chances are we won't be contending for years to come.. we have no can't miss prospect now like philly when they mis the playoff and then retooled and made the playoff the next.. so might as well trade Schneider.. bring lack up for lu to mentor him.. and by the time Lack is ready.. hopefully all the prospects are good to go.. there's no point of keeping schneider here IF we are rebuilding.. coz chances are he'll walk when free agent hits anyways coz we are no longer contending.. and by the time we are ready to contend again.. we won't know whether Schneider is still the goalie he is today.. but that's only if we are going into rebuild.

This is really the playoffs where we see that our core just can't win in the playoffs. Last year we could say the hangover and of course LA, It is obvious now that the Sedins are just not dependable in the playoffs, it is painful to watch them.

The series isn't over but for this team to win it needs to reverse a trend that has been going on for a long time and that is the lack of offense. It's not going to happen. What is even more revealing is that Jose is good but they are not going to win the conference.
