No matter how you add it up, Harper’s fiscal record is a catastrophe

Wow the op hates Harper and the Conservatives.

I work in the oil industry which is one of the biggest reasons I will be voting conservative.

I certainly will never vote communism(ndp)

Finally some common sense in this thread.

Exactly. Most hard working people with families will not vote communism either. The family tax cut, child care allowances and fitness credits are huge for us. Made a difference in our life, unlike any other government I can remember. Yeah it was a bit of a voter strategy, we all get that, but I don't want that idiot Trudeau to take it away. He will give more of my hard earned money to those that do not deserve it as much (you know the kind, the ones that don't pay taxes and leech off the rest of us)

Yep, I think I got a few extra bucks too. And I really don't care about the socialist argument that Harper is privatizing health care. If it works down south it will work here too anyway, I say bring on the privatization. Competition is good, lazy people taking advantage of public health care is bad.

I agree 100% - if it works down south, it will work here too...

It doesn't work down south

You guys are hilarious. Dumb, but hilarious.

I kid I kid. I was re phrasing what this 14 year old jackass at hfboard actually posted. I got an infraction there over that twerp for pointing out that his deluded neo fascist politics couldn't be further from reality. But reading through this thread I see he's not alone.

The OP forgot the housing bubble and the record levels of debt not just by the Feds but every province and the average Canadian as an individual. If When interest rates ever went inevitably go up Canada would will be SCREWED.

Lower Taxes, More Services, and Balanced Budgets! It's the rallying cry of ALL the parties......

P.S. OP. I seriously doubt either of the authors would vote for the NDP.

In that case I also forgot about the record student loan debt, the fact young people aren't starting their lives well into their mid-late 20s, wasteful involvement in conflicts half way around the world, and so on.

If our choice is for whoever will manage low taxes and high programs best, I'd rather have NDP than CPC or Liberals. We've seen what these two are capable of, and this aren't getting better. In fact they're getting worse for the average Canadian.

PS. This was meant as an indictment of Harper's and CPC's policies, not right wing policies overall.

Sounds AWESOME...... Wait.........

Highest costs for healthcare.

Number one cause of bankruptcy in the MIDDLE CLASS is MEDICAL BILLS.

The only people that healthcare works for down south are the wealthy and healthcare corps. I include corps. as people, cause you know, they are people. With feelings, and desires, and entitlements from the government.

Yeah those poor people working three jobs just to barely and poorly feed their families and keep a roof over their heads...screw them, I get some extra latte money from the awesome Con party :towel:

Some of the comments here are truly frightening but I guess it should come as no surprise that those who would vote for leaders with such short term vision would themselves be enticed by short term rewards.

For me, I'm more concerned about how my government uses the taxes it collects more than how much they give back to me.

That's something for Steven Harper's granddaughter to worry about...

Increase the GST is the first thing I would do. I still don't understand that one. All these parties have issues. It's just 4 years of masking issues and hoping everything doesn't implode.

Legal Marijauna maybe? Tax it heavily. Increase taxes on fast food? Make fitness memberships and book buying tax deductible? Increase tax on liquor and cigarettes?

Tax deductibles on book buying is unnecessary. We should be encouraging more book recycling or find another way to get more people to use libraries.

I have an idea of adjusting the sin tax. Increase the costs for imported liquor while decreasing the tax for locally brewed beers as well as smaller Canadian breweries. Help craft brewers and regional brewers and keep them Canadian. So no Molson or Labatt subsidiaries (Kokanee comes to mind). Sleeman's would also fall under the added tax. Yes, we are talking about a progressive nationalization of beer. Probably wouldn't work considering NAFTA but I wanted to float the idea.

Apparently I should vote (in this order) Green, then Liberal, NDP, Communist, Bloc, Libertarian, Conservative and finally in last place Christian Heritage party.

I`m hovering right around (just above and below) 90% for the first three parties.

I'm seeing liberal over green for you.

Sorry, that was the second time taking it with some strategically changed answers to see how it would change the outcome. Meant to post the link to the main quiz rather than the results ;)

Regardless, those three parties are at +/- 90% for me. I'd likely be best off voting for whichever candidate I feel best represents me in my area of those three, basically equal parties.
