Googlie
Utica up 2 - 0 end of 1st. Goals by Darcy and Kero Gaunce having another great game, with a beauty pass to Kero for the goal on a 5 min pp. Gaudette noticeable both ends, and Lind & JD having a strong game, Beezer too. Pyatt has been a presence as well. Boucher relatively silent, but some one timers that were saved or rebounded and cleared. MacEwen drew the major when he was head hunted on a foray thru center ice. He was gone mb 3 mins to the quiet room, but was back on the ice before the end of the pp.
Googlie
Now 2 - 1 Zak Dalpe (remember him?) Scores on a Cleveland pp Edited January 6, 2019 by Googlie
Googlie
3-1 on a breakaway solo snipe by Arseneau!! No assist given, but I swear I saw a great outlet pass Ah - assists now given to Pyatt and Wyszomirski Edited January 6, 2019 by Googlie
Googlie
Good veteran move by the rookie goaltender. Beezer lost his stick on a pk, and magically, the net came off in its peg, necessitating a stoppage in play
Googlie
3 - 1 at end of second. PK carries over to 3rd, but Comets killed off first 40 seconds of a 5 on 3, will just be a 5 on 4 for the balance of Cleveland's pp
Googlie
4 - 1 on Kero's 2nd of the night. Saucerman an assist
Googlie
5 - 1 on Kero's hattie. Empty net shorty. Monsters pulled their goalie on a pp with 4 minutes left, great set up by Boucher 1

86Viking
Rick Dhaliwal @DhaliwalSports 2m2 minutes ago More Gadjovich healthy scratched again this weekend in Utica. 2nd round pick, #Canucks should play him or find him a team like Palmu. AHL is tough on 19-20 year olds but sitting won’t help his devopment. Send Gadj to the ECHL?

I think it would be good for both players and the league if the ECHL became a more frequently used developmental league akin to AA baseball.

He’s getting scratched more than he’s playing in the AHL right now!

Considering the Comets are our farm team, JG should be getting ice time ahead of any veteran AHLer’s, who have no chance of ever playing for us.

They want their AHL team to win and if the coach and GM of the Comets say the best chance is by icing the current roster then you have to agree with them. If Gadjovich isn’t ready for the AHL he isn’t ready. Don’t force him into the lineup because you have control. Send him down he’s only 20 years old. Not everybody is ready for the AHL being that young! Heck guys like Suzuki and Glass stayed in the CHL. It was a mistake rushing so many guys into the AHL instead of having them play as overagers in the CHL. There are only so many spots on a roster. It’s our team, and it’s only focus should be developing future Canucks. We dump millions into that club. Play JG, and see what we got. If he can’t muster up the gumption to fight his way through the league’s toughest players, then he’ll never be of use to us. JG is either a fighter, who can play fourth line minutes, or he’s not a player. Let’s find out.

Yet again Alf you demonstrate how lucky the world of Hockey has been knowing that you chose an alternate career path. 1

JG is a physically mature guy, and has been for several years. He's either got what it takes to play the role he was drafted to fill at the NHL level, or he does not. Play the kid in that role at the AHL level. Let's see what we have in him. If he can't bop with the big boys down in the A, he won't be any good to us up here, and it will be time to move on. The younger we can determine a prospect is going to bustaroo, the more we can get in return - via trade. We need to use our farm to both develop and evaluate. There are many ways to develop players. Punishing him by sitting him is generally not one of them. I agree with the poster you replied to, the vets are there to increase the experience level and the winning environment for the younger players. If Gadjovich can't make a place for himself he needs an environment where he can work on his weaknesses Ironically I actually had your point of view regarding Palmu but my problem with what we did there was that I felt he had already dominated in Finland and yet he could make no impression in Utica so there must be something lacking imo in the Finnish League.
