Already explained this to you. Hellebuyck made even offering you a deal for Vasi null.

Who's playing D in front of Hellebuyck this year? :P

Besides, if Vasy was available for such an apparently overwhelming bargain, you'd think you'd have interest and simply move one of them after the fact ;)

So then I have two starters? At which point, I have to sell one, and the cost there would be a lot less, as guys know I have to get rid of one. So the return would be less than what I gave up for Vasi.

Couldn't have been the overwhelming bargain you claimed then...

Feel free to show me how to trade your 2nd, #1 goalie 'right'.

By trading the one that:

1. Isn’t a #1 goalie yet; and

2. Would get a higher return for him because of:

      - ELC salary

      - Suits rebuilders and Competitors

The Cory Schneider scenario. Younger. Cheaper.

But whatever. Gotta do whatcha gotta do.

I prefer the trade Bishop and keep a young Vasilevskiy scenario to your Schneider one.

Keep the younger, cheaper guy who's only (impressively) begun to show what he can do, on a team on the rise ;)

Like I said, when you've got two starters as good as mine, feel free to show me how to do it 'right' there big talker.

I got far more in return than I originally payed for Vasy. Perhaps you over estimate the market for goalies.

Smoochie bouches.

I wish I knew he was gonna be that cheap. I probably would have put my hat in the ring. I remember last season the price was wayyyyyyy higher

Price was always a backup, good player/prospect and a pick.

Thanks C2X for processing, @Tony Romo for the trade.

We're obviously gambling Alex can resume a real life top 6 role and some young players can grab top 6 roles. But we also get the opportunity to work with him on a new contract next summer, based on where he is fitting.  This seemed smarter than any 5 or 8 year big money UFA signings. It also takes some of the logjam, a good opportunity for Grant, out of a crowded prospect base. A deeper line up than recent years;

Current Oilers Depth Chart;

Henrik Borgstrom  Alex Wennberg Patrick Kane

Robbi Fabbri Frans Nielson Brendan Perlini

 Jakob Lilja  Oskar Sundkvist Joakim Nygard

Depth UFA TBA  Lias Andersson Marcus Foligno

             Colton Sceviour,Tyler Benson              Ryan Kuffner, Rasmus Asplund, Curtis Lazaar, Grigori Denisenko, Nick Paul

               Rasmus Dahlin Matt Niskanen

                   Oskar Klefbom   Ian Cole

                  Ben Harpur   Colin Miller

                 Derrick Pouliot Julius Honka             Nicholas Hague, Jesper Sellgren, Ian McCoshen, Lucas Carlsson, Fehervary

                            Corey Crawford
