The thing is, without CDC, I have very little reason to look at the official Canucks website. Once they realize that their traffic is way down, they'll probably keep CDC. That's what my crystal ball says. They make a certain amount of money from website traffic I'm sure. Why throw a revenue stream away unnecessarily? However small it may be. Advertisers won't want to pay as much if traffic falls off significantly. CDC is essentially volunteer fan operated and costs them very little to run. My 2 cents

I think that there are a number of players who are filling spots for the time being, particularly in the top 6 D. Overall, PDG, Joshua, whoever the 6D is on any given day for example. Tocchet is smart enough to know this.

The CDC site looks like it has been shut down. I had given up on it until I was corrected on the unofficial site.

To all those delusional folks who thought that ownership was reading CDC and taking their comments to heart: I thought it was all BS but I guess you are having the last laugh because you were right and the fools are pulling the plug. I've been on CDC for about 12 years and it has been a wonderful source of the latest information and often accurate criticism of the team If they think that we can be muzzled, well, they're dumber than they look. It was blind speculation and Miller got pinned with being that guy. Turned out it wasn't true at all. Was it Horvat? No proof at all. Making comments like that to explain the teams underperformance with absolutely no knowledge is a tad irresponsible don't you think?

You're selling Horvat short but at the end of the day, I agree the return for him was quite good.

Ya, I agree, they certainly have options this year. They're bigger on the back end too. Soucy, Cole and Irwin are all over 6' and north of 200 lbs. And can play either side. But Cole (34) and Irwin (35) are here for the short term on year by year contracts I think they re-sign Bear too. They just aren't counting on him. I take a healthy Bear over Juulsen so it's up to him to make an impression until that happens. Also, Brisebois showed that he is a capable call up but at 6'2" and 175 he's a bit of a string bean and won't be getting physical with anyone. I don't think that he fits the Canucks profile (physical)(many don't) Wolanin I think is capable of being a #6 Hirose was a nice surprise but he's undersized at 6'0" 170 imo and may become a call up level player but we'll see if he is a good enough skater to make the bigs. I suspect that Myers stays, as I said earlier, but if they do get an offer, they have the pieces to get along without him. But I think that Allvin still has his eye out for a longer term replacement on the right side.

Depends on when Bear is ready right? But seriously, Myers is here still because of the reason you suggest, they just don't have anybody better. It's a question of availability and cap hit. Allvin said himself that Myers was going to play. Allvin also said that they like Juulson so likely they have Hronek, Myers and Juulson on the right barring some very fortunate circumstance. Bear looked like a good fit but of course, they have to play the odds and based on his injury and likely rehab, they can't count on Baer even though they like him. Hard call but you have to like Allvin's pragmatism. On the left, the have Hughes, Soucy and Cole which will be just fine. Over all, the D is much better than last year This is a short term solution and the D will be much better. They're going step-wise and that is ok by me. Next year will be another step.
