  1. Outplayed, outclassed, outwhatever. Canucks aren't good enough, haven't; been in 10 years. As the Canucks mantra goes - maybe next year
  2. I actually thought the Canucks might be in the running for Shane Wright this year, but they turned out to be just good enough to drop in the drafting order and still miss playoffs. It's nice that, at least, these games are still meaningful, provides a bit more excitement. Until they're out, I guess there's a chance
  3. Who knows what the team will look like in 2025/26 There are at least 17 players who are no longer on the team, from 2 years ago. I think these current players may still be on the team : Miller Pettersson Podkolzin Lockwood Hughes Dermott Demko
  4. How much of a raise will Matt Tkachuk get? Wouldn't that be wild if Allvin offer-sheeted him?. The cost would probably be two 1st round picks, a 2nd and a 3rd. Highly unlikely something like this happens, but if he wants a superstar added to the young core...
  5. I'm thinking they might want to add to that. Hopefully JR/PA have an excellent Draft, maybe acquire another 1st
  6. That's for sure. Benning traded the future and promised playoffs this year. I guess his plan didn't work. Miller, OEL and Garland couldn't get them in.
  7. I think as long as PIT has Crosby, they're going to go for it. Maybe Malkin (UFA) doesn't re-sign, Miller and Crosby down the middle would help them. I wonder if Malkin would consider signing in VAN, to play for JR and Allvin, Or is he much too old and injury-riddled?
  8. This is what I think the Canucks want to do, from their comments: - build a young core and get faster - add / build up the prospect pool - clear cap space - get a superstar I hope they make big changes this off season so this stuff happens. And re-signing Miller goes against all of it.
  9. I'd rather have Burroughs, over Myers. At least Burroughs knows how to hit without taking a penalty, and he's willing to fight anyone. Trade the friendly giant, and get a real top pairing RD, somehow.
  10. Jack Rathbone is an undersized 4th round pick Dman, who can't get a spot on a losing Canucks team. He has almost no value.
  11. Miller's value has dropped since the TDL. And now he's proven to not be a difference maker. Maybe Allvin can still trade him to the Bruins or Capitals, etc. but VAN might not get back the huge return. Hopefully Miller accepts under $8 if he stays, he's not worth more and will be very overpaid in about 3-4 years.
  12. My childhood heroes are dying. Feeling my own mortality. Sad day, Guy was such an exciting player, a legend. RIP Flower
  13. Benning's Canucks just aren't good enough. Both teams had injuries. Myers is a train wreck Boeser is overpaid now, never mind his upcoming raise. Fiala is a way better player. Bring on the lottery, I guess
  14. Watching Boeser in the shootout against OTT, he's not the greatest stick handler, so I don't know why he went that route. Brock is a shooter. I wish next time, he'd skate as fast as he can (which is normal speed), and just fire a rocket slapshot. Why not?
  15. Saw Lacuna Coil (with Apocalyptica) at the Commodore last night. Really great show, and awesome to see live music again.
  16. Is this a new rule change with the lottery? Why do they give the bubble teams odds to get the #1? What other rule changes are there? Only 2 lottery spots now?
  17. I'd love for the Canucks to beat MIN, would send a statement that the Canucks are better than they think. They are one determined bunch trying to claw their way in. I can't stand Darryl Sutter. He looks like he should be in a pair of overalls on the set of Deliverance. Maybe with a 2 string banjo. Anyway, I truly believe Sutter hates the Canucks and wants them to miss out on the playoffs. Maybe he's scared, who knows. The Flames recently choked against Vegas and Nashville, giving them each 2 points - both teams VAN is trying to catch. The Flames play DAL tonight and I would not be surprised to see Dallas win that one too. Then the Flames play the Canucks and will probably play their best game of the year to knock VAN out. Bast***s
  18. Trade Horvat, Pearson and Myers Big Fish (up to $7) - Miller ($8.5) - Boeser ($7) Podkolzin ($0.925) - Pettersson ($7.35) - Garland ($4.95) OEL ($7.26) - Big Fish (up to $7) Hughes ($7.85) - Schenn ($0.850)
  19. So, who reps the Canucks? JR or Allvin? Not feeling overly optimistic with the lottery results, hasn't favoured the Canucks before. With the late season push and all of those wins, I'm thinking the Canucks pick at #15. This is a problem. Maybe JR and Allvin make a splash at the Draft to move up. Remember, they don't have a superstar.
  20. Canucks needed to put them away early in the game and then defend against this bottom feeder team. Not that tall a task. If they can't beat OTT in their own building, with crazed fans in the stands, and a loss means "you're done", then playoff talk is a bit of a joke. Hope Allvin can work some magic. Try again next year.
  21. PA - This is our offer, as high as we're able to go - $8 x 5 years JT - PA - Okay, well, perhaps we could tweak that. How about $8.25 x 5? JT - PA - Hmm, I see I've displeasured you good sir. $8.5 x 6 years. Final offer! JT - PA - $8.75 x 6? We can't go any higher. JT - ...and that was how JT Miller was traded
