  1. So, I hear Will Smith has been banned from the Oscars for 10 years. I guess he'll return just in time to receive his Lifetime Achievement Award. Hollywood
  2. Can't lose any games. Not one. If they do, well, they tried with little runway they had left. I don't mind the Canucks makeshift bottom 6, they play hard anyway. Dickinson, though, is terrible. Glad Hughes are Burroughs are both back. Going to need another stellar game from Demko
  3. I think the expectations on the returns have to be lowered. Boeser will be expensive for what he brings. That's going to be tough to trade. My guess is it'll be something like: Boeser to NJ for Zacha and a 3rd Miller will also be expensive, but he's a great piece to add to a contender, and makes that team the favourites. But, he's also going to be expensive, and 30, so my guess is: Miller to BOS for Jake DeBrusk, Victor Berglund and a 2nd. BOS has Bergeron salary ($6.8) coming off the books next year. Miller could be his replacement. DeBrusk has 22 goals this year. he'd be 4th in Canucks scoring. Berglund is a 22-year old RD with decent size and production. Just pure guessing with the returns, but I don't believe Miller, for example, will get the Canucks a 1st, a Grade A prospect and a good young player. Dream on. Maybe if Miller made $5 over the next 3 seasons. His highest value was at last month's TDL.
  4. I'd like to trade almost half the team, but in reality, I think they'll only move a few. I'd like them to trade Miller, and go in a younger, rebuild direction, but I think they re-sign him, because of how much of a leader he's proven to be. My guess is $8.5 x 5 years. Horvat has 30 goals, a quietly great year. Went 100% in faceoffs against ARI. He's real good at those. I think they re-sign him. My guess is $7 x 6 years. Trade? Boeser, Garland, and if possible, Dickinson I do hope they improve the D, so add Myers and Poolman to that list. 2022/23 Hughes - Schenn OEL - ?? Dermott - Burroughs Hunt Rathbone
  5. This seems funny to me. Why is Snoop being quoted for someone else's quote?
  6. Horvat $7 x 6 Boeser - trade Miller - trade Garland - trade Pearson - trade Lockwood $1 x 3 Rathbone $1 x 3 Hunt $1 x 2 Lammikko $800K x 2 Highmore $800K x 2 Chiasson $800K x 2 Richardson $800K x 1 Dickinson to Abbotsford if they can't trade him Get Karlsson and Bains with the team (or Abby) as soon as possible
  7. Cs next season? 1 - Pettersson 2 - Horvat 3 - Miller to CAR for Kotkaniemi+ or Necas+ 4 - Richardson (re-sign for 1 season)
  8. Re-sign Chiasson, seriously. The guy has a big body, goes to the net, and has somehow found chemistry with Petey. And he's cheap. Can move up and down the lineup. Best game I've seen him play. Podkolzin is going to be a beast Horvat was perfect, where was Miller? Dickinson is God-awful horrible. My gosh, he shouldn't even be in the league. Halak looked good again
  9. This is great! I love giving my opinion. Hockey has changed a whole lot since the 80s and 90s. There aren't any dynasties anymore, including TB because they cheated. To be fair, the Canucks have been to 3 SCF and the VGK 1 time In their first season, VGK had the perfect storm of motivated players and a great goaltender. Then later, they were even allowed to skip the Seattle expansion draft. They have no clue what losing means yet, but the good news is, they're now starting to lose. It's been downhill for them since their first season. The league set them up for success and they couldn't do it. Nice try Bettman.
  10. Thanks for the info. That's terrible for him, but hopefully it's just a year and he comes back strong and ready for the NHL. If VAN had that extra late 1st, I wonder if it would be worth taking a chance on him?
  11. Yeah, wouldn't that be cool if the Canucks did find another late 1st and nabbed him at around #25. Got to think, he was ranked #2 for a reason before. Apparently, Miro is currently suffering from some 'serious health problems'. No idea what it could be.
  12. Yeah, for sure, I have been keeping an eye on one list all year (MyNHLDraft), and in August, Miro was ranked #2. Now he's at #31 on that list. I'm not sure why the drop.
  13. Was first thinking: Canucks have some key guys out now, an impossible mountain to climb to get into the playoffs now, they might get into the Top 10 at the Draft. But after last night's game, without those key guys, dominated Vegas in their building. This was a huge game for the Knights, they needed that win. Demko was so awesome. So, it got me re-thinking: Wouldn't that be a Canucks thing to do, win games down the stretch to push them back on Draft Day. Maybe instead of Top 10, say they draft at #15. Any chance Yurov or Miroshnichenko falls to VAN and they select one? I know they were both ranked higher last year (but being Russian...) Podkolzin - Pettersson - Yurov or Miroshnichenko - Pettersson - Podkolzin Could be good one day VAN does need D, but unless they're getting into the Top 10 and can somehow get a RD: Jiricek or Nemec, Korchinksi, Pickering, Mateychuk - all LDs
  14. Canucks were hammering them all game. They sure miss Ryan Reaves and Alex Tuch, glad they don't have them anymore. Suck it Vegas.
  15. They said they want to get younger and faster, so my guess is Miller, Pearson, Dickinson, and one of OEL or Myers will be leaving at some point this off season, at the least. Sutter, Chiasson, Richardson, Petan and Halak are UFAs, and will probably be gone. I think they re-sign Hunt. Horvat and/or Boeser could also be on their way out. I'll give Garland the benefit of the doubt. He only makes $5 for the next 4 years, he's still only 26, provides spark and energy, produces, draws penalties, etc. Miller for: (LW) Lysell and a 1st (#26)? or (RD) Lundkvist and a 1st (#27)? or (C) Newhook, a 2nd (they don't have a 1st), and a 2nd in 2023 I'd like it if they kick-started the prospects/young players. Canucks need quality, not quantity.
  16. Just noticed Joshua Niedermayer, LD, son of Scott. 6'0" 200 lbs. Not sure where he's ranked, but he's already got size, and that pedigree alone is worth taking him at some point.
  17. What about Sam Rinzel? 6'4" RD I notice he rose up the ranks a bit, a late 1st rounder? I have to do my research on the prospects, now that the Canucks are headed to the lottery (sounds better than saying missing the playoffs)
  18. That's it, she loves the Canucks, but doesn't get invested emotionally or mentally in how the machine works. She just enjoys Canucks hockey, whereas I'm looking at salary caps, obsessing about roster improvements and analyzing stats lol I'm hoping for an active off season, but I have a feeling Allvin is very patient and very cautious about every move. I guess that's a good thing, but I'm impatient.
  19. My wife has great optimism, she's always cheering the Canucks on, regardless if they're good or not. The Draft means nothing to her. She likes the team as it is. To her, it's always "you never know, they might actually win, and if they don't, I hope they just have a good game". I wish I had this tempered expectation of my team, and could just appreciate good hockey a little more. I guess we should just enjoy the games that are left, hope they make them close, maybe they'll win a few. This feels like the end of a chapter, Benning's roster fizzling down the stretch. New management in, who I think, will be very active in the off season. The new chapter begins in October. I can't wait to see what they're building.
  20. How low can the Canucks go? With a depleted lineup now, and not much to play for, will they drop into the Top 10?
  21. Boeser could've played his last game as a Canuck. It would be nice for him to be closer to his dad and family, and Fiala or Boldy coming back our way
  22. I'd be okay with that, as long as he prevents goals
  23. Taking Chesley at #13 or #14 could be a risk, but he could also turn out to be a very good defensive Dman. I believe he was ranked at #14 at one point last year, but dropped since, to #19, the #23, and now out of the 1st Round. Any idea why? Was there an injury?
