Have any of you sat in glass seats at a hockey game? What was it like? I am considering buying some for this season and want to know if it's worth the hype.

I wouldn't. I have never sat right at the glass but close 2-3 rows and while its 'fun' as a once off to experience the speed of the game the issues I find are the following:
1. When the play is in the other end its hard to see, your perspective so low that the viewing angle is difficult
2. If you are in a corner, its even worse, because when you look to the corner at the other end of the ice on your side, there is often glare off the glass that makes that corner hard to see (and that ignores the benches / penalty box in the way as well)
3. As a result, you find yourself staring up at the screen alot, only to realize you are watching the play up there, when sometimes it is now back in front of you...its annoying.
I would do it once if you really feel like you want to see the speed but personally, I find you can actually be 'too low' at a hockey game. Anything below row 12ish I find can be challenging for some viewing areas of the ice. I prefer 15 and above in the lower bowl and anywhere in the upper bowl
JMHO - hopefully that helps

That's actually really helpful, @Nuckles80, thank you! Those are definitely some of the concerns I have about sitting so low on the side of the ice. My favorite seats at SAP Arena are right next to the "Away" locker room entrance since I can highfive the players- corner seats that essentially make it impossible to see any gameplay at the opposite corner on the same side of the ice. The proximity to players makes it worth it, but I agree that you end up just watching the screens from that position.
Some of the glass seats available are next to the penalty boxes or directly behind the goal, both of which seem like awful views. I might just save my $300 and sit where I normally do. - Show next comments 3 more
