    No big name D moved pre-expansion... makes a Dallas deal for Tanev even more likely imo.

      thats true joe, but we can pick up a solid veteran D in free agency to help with that. If Dallas wants Tanev as much as rumoured then the Canucks being able to pick 3rd and 5th this year is a huge step in the rebuild, much more than keeping Tanev and finishing say 25th instead of 28th in the standings.

      If Tanev gets us #3 JB will do that.  I'm wondering if there are other teams bidding for Tanev's service?  At what point does is the return not enough?  Would we take 8 from Buffalo?
