If Kane shows he's matured and grown up, and he's not asking for a crazy amount sure.
Rather throw everything at Tavares to be honest.

Kane will be cheaper than Tavares. Kane will probably want a raise to around 7 million (from 5.5) and tavares will probably want around 9 million (from 5.5).
SabreFan1 but Tavares makes players around him better, can't say that for Kane.
A lot depends on how he carries himself this season, pretty much for both of them.
