well, if the termination results in another cap recapture penalty then I'd take Looch. We can at least buy that out in 2 years or maybe even get another compliance buyout for the next CBA.

But I think Lucic might actually still be useful - our team is getting bigger and faster and more skilled. Lucic is only 1 of those things (big) but he's also a snarly player that you have to watch out for. And who knows, the big guy might find new life here for a year or two. 

Maybe this deal is possible:

Lucic 1.25 mil retained for Loui. That way the money evens out pretty much and we save the same about of cap as if we sent Loui to Utica. At least we get a player that wants to be here. 

Jimmy ... Jimmy ... Jimmy.  I like our big local boy too.  But Milan has, unfortunately for him, that disease that gives him that humped back.  It’s a real strain on his flexibility too.  He’s slowed down so much, because he can’t maintain the flexibility for a proper stride.  Then again, maybe we could put Looch on Robidaus island?  I wonder if Looch would consider LTIR?  

LTIR would certainly be more reasonable in his case than others we've seen. 

I dunno, I'm a goofy optimist. I still think he's got something left in the tank for a season or two. Edmonton has a way of making people suck.
