  1. Sounds like this is going to be a quiet trade deadline, according to GM's like Murray from the Ducks and Dorion from the Sens: 1. “It’s quiet,’’ Murray said. “That’s the pandemic, the (flat) cap, expansion draft, would be the reasons for that in any order you want to put them in.’’ 2. “I predict we’ll see a fairly quiet trade deadline, not just for the Senators but for the entire NHL, just because of the landscape for everything,” Dorion said. “It’s a buyer’s market compared to a seller’s market. Things can change quickly, but in talking to my counterparts, I get the feeling we’re not going to see as many trades as we have in the past.” Another factor is the limited cap space lots of teams face right now: CapFriendly shows that as of the weekend, 21 teams had less than $4 million in projected cap space. The expansion draft this offseason is also throwing a wrench into things according to former executive Brian Lawton.
  2. NIAID Statement on AstraZeneca Vaccine Late Monday, the Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) notified NIAID, BARDA, and AstraZeneca that it was concerned by information released by AstraZeneca on initial data from its COVID-19 vaccine clinical trial. The DSMB expressed concern that AstraZeneca may have included outdated information from that trial, which may have provided an incomplete view of the efficacy data. We urge the company to work with the DSMB to review the efficacy data and ensure the most accurate, up-to-date efficacy data be made public as quickly as possible. ouch, again negative newsflow related to AZ vaccine. Something must be wrong with this company.
  3. Myers played on the third pairing in Winnipeg. Myers playing on the third pairing in VAN, together with Benn.
  4. Gaudette, Rafferty and a 2 or 3 for Ekholm... No chance, Nashville's GM would not bite. It starts with a 1st round pick and a quality prospect. Let's look at the Muzzin trade from L.A. to TOR. L.A. got a 1st round pick and a quality prospect if I remember correctly. I do believe that Ekholm has more value than Muzzin had a the time of the trade from L.A. to TOR, because Ekholm contributes more offensively than Muzzin. No chance that Jim Benning is giving up another 1st round pick after Jim used last years 1st round pick to trade for JT Miller.
  5. Arthur Staple: New York Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello announced that forward Anders Lee requires surgery this week and will be out for the rest of this season. Lee will be ready for the 2021-22 season. Andrew Gross: Lee will be undergoing ACL surgery. Pierre LeBrun: Would think that the Islanders would now be in the market for a rental winger. Options for the Islanders could include Kyle Palmieri (if he doesn’t re-sign with the New Jersey Devils), Taylor Hall, and Mikael Granlund. Islanders GM Lou Lamoriello and Toronto Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas could be calling the same teams over the next three weeks. Arthur Staple: Lamoriello: “We’re always trying to find a scoring winger, even without Anders’ situation. If we can, we will.”
  6. Your post is just another example that you have no clue what's going on. Here are the facts: Asked which countries this principle (export stop() might cover, von der Leyen cited the U.K., which she said was the "No. 1" destination for EU vaccine exports, while not sending any shots back in the other direction. "We have observed that in the last six weeks, actually 10 million doses by now have been exported to the U.K.," she said. "We're still waiting for doses to come from the U.K." Going forward I will not read any more posts from you because you are absolutely clueless.
  7. Here is our top 6 scoring winger that we need desperately..... May be hard for the Rangers to trade Buchnevich but they may not be able to afford his next deal Larry Brooks of the NY Post: The New York Rangers will have some decisions to make on forward Pavel Buchnevich before the trade deadline. Heading into the season it appeared that the Rangers would eventually look at moving the soon-to-be 26-year old at the trade deadline. He’s a pending RFA with arbitration rights. Things may now have changed since he’s their leading point producer heading into this week – 22 points in 26 games. If they were to move Buchnevich, they may want to get a top-six center who is sort of young, or a grinding winger that is in the mold of Maple Leafs Zach Hyman. Both of these ideas seem unlikely. It may now take a long-term deal in the $5.5 million range.
  8. stawns: How would you feel if the European Union imposes an export stop on the Pfizer vaccine? That would mean that you guys over there in Canada would no longer receive vaccine produced in the European Union? Take a moment and think about it.
  9. point 1: AZ vaccine has not been cleared by the FDA and therefore cannot be administered point 2: European Union ships the vaccicne to countries all over the world whereas the US is not willing to share it's vaccine.
  10. UNBELIEVABLE: our friends - the States stockpile 30M doses of the AZ vaccine. The AZ vaccine hasn't even been approved by the FDA. White House coronavirus coordinator Zients refuses to share AZ vaccine with other countries even other countries have been asking the US to do so. The US and UK have in fact an export stop imposed on vaccine. European Union doesn't get AZ vaccine from AZ factories located in UK. Disgusting. Disgusting. “We’re rightly focused on getting Americans vaccinated as soon as possible,” White House coronavirus coordinator Jeffrey Zients said. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/white-house/u-s-not-planning-share-astrazeneca-vaccine-stockpile-other-countries-n1260991
  11. Ryan Rishaug: It is sounding like the Edmonton Oilers and pending unrestricted free agent forward Ryan Nugent-Hopkins will resume extension talks in the next few days. When the sides were talking earlier, they were some back and forth on a long-term deal in the $6 to $6.5 million range.
  12. Two German players among the top three stars with Grubauer and Draisaitl. Always nice to see German players doing well in the best league. Keep going guys.
  13. Based on Anaheim's trade tiers Jim Benning targeting a player like Heinen who's assigned to the lowest bracket Trade tiers for the Ducks Untouchable – Trevor Zegras, and Jamie Drysdale. Pretty untouchable – Hampus Lindholm. Only if he wants to leave – Ryan Getzlaf, John Gibson and Ryan Miller. Untradeable – Cam Fowler, Jakob Silfverberg, Adam Henrique, Kevin Shattenkirk and Derek Grant. Time to rebuild and need max value in return – Rickard Rakell and Josh Manson. Not trading Rakell for just draft picks. Manson has a year left on his deal at $4.1 million but has dealt with injuries the past few years. Useful and might be good to hang onto – Jani Hakanpaa and Nicolas Deslauriers. There is promise and what to see where it goes – Maxime Comtois, Isac Lundestrom and Max Jones. Don’t give up just yet unless can get a proven talent – Troy Terry, Sam Steel and Josh Mahura. Only consider if getting young proven talent – Jacob Perreault and Lukas Dostal. See if can get anything back – Danton Heinen, Ben Hutton, Jacob Larsson, Carter Rowney, Sonny Milano and Brendan Guhle. Oh yes Ducks you get anything back for Heinen. This anything is a former first rounder ....
  14. Interesting statistic in terms of vaccine volumes distributed from Europe to other countries all over the world: 1. UK 8.1M. doses 2. Canada 3.1M. doses 3. Japan 3.1M 4. Mexico 2.5M 5. Saudi -Arab. 1.0M 6. Chile 0.8M 7. Singapur 0.8M 8. Malaysia 0.7M 9. USA 0.7M 10. Australia 0.6M
  15. Don't recall if it was Hank or Danny Sedin. One of them said about Jake that Jake has all the tools.... It's not enough to have all the tools you have to bring them to the table. Besides that most of us know that he hasn't all the tools, because he's lacking the work ethic necessary to be a Top 6 guy that's contributing on the score sheet. I am tired of having this discussion over and over again. 24 year old forward and Canucks are still waiting for his breakthrough, still waiting that he becomes an every night guy. Consistency and the right mindset can't be learnt. I recommend to watch Myer's defensive play, especially his positioning, man coverage, taking stupid penalties .. in the coming games. Maybe this is going to change your mind once you focused more on Myers's play in his own zone. Yes: I like that he joins the rush, I like that he brings the puck to the net, I like his size and reach. But there are so many other things that need to be taken into consideration.
  16. not easy for the Ducks to get rid of their veterans like Henrique, who they placed on waivers a couple of weeks ago and now Backes because of their contracts and the flat cap.
  17. Horrible - can't believe that New England Patriots bringing back QB Cam Newton because his performance was truly abysmal in last years season. Pats are going to miss playoffs again next season with him as quarterback. https://www.patriots.com/news/report-cam-newton-returning-to-patriots-on-a-one-year-deal
  18. Can Podz skate like Kirill Kaprizov? Can Podz shoot like Kirill Kaprizov?
  19. Wild picked him 135 overall in 2015 ..... In a re-draft he would surely go first round..
