Buffalos the sauce homie 

Actually the drum and the wing of chickens were once considered waste (throw away) parts of a chicken until the woman who founded the Anchor Bar in Buffalo decided to toss them in the fryer and then create a sauce for them that she would serve to her son and his friends and shortly thereafter to her customers when they proved to be a hit.

In Buffalo we just called them chicken wings (still do), but the rest of the world calls them hot wings or Buffalo wings.
