  1. Considering they will be playing in a 3500 seat rink don't think they are too concerned. They are the epitome of how to not build a franchise.
  2. I have zero issue giving up our first this year for him - addresses a huge need on the back end and already developed vs grabbing a prospect thru the draft
  3. Yeah I think it's time to look at moving some assets - bring up some of the kids and let them learn under Bruce and gear towards next year. Let's be honest if we are going to re-tool guys like Dickinson, Myers etc are not going to bring us the pieces we need which means we have to move Miller and/or Brock. Or do we keep Miller and move Bo (Don't get me wrong I love Bo but Miller brings the same tangibles as him and more IMHO) - the list of available UFAs this summer don't really excite me for what we would have to pay for them. So yes I agree - sell, sell, sell
  4. Start the tank?

I hope we tank HARD next season. 2023 draft is DEEP. Trade Boeser, Miller, Horvat (assuming he doesnt want an extension), Garland for 2023 1st round picks + more.

If any stupid team is willing to overpay for Hoglander Im fine with that too.

      Its all about the TANKKKKKKKK

      Tank?

Remember when some thought with summer signings the cup was coming

I can't recall how we were to retain people with expiring contracts?

So was this team constructed to be better for this year only and with more let downs after we again would have lost people for nothing (especially if we had made the playoffs and old guard still in place)? Just up and groggy still wondering what the past plan would have been?

  5. Thing fans and writers for other teams don't seem to get is we don't have to move Miller - we could keep him. And the Toffoli deal shows you it's a sellers market at the moment.
  6. All they need to do is trade for Taylor Hall and the 1st pick overall is theirs
  7. The Flames obsession with ex-Canucks continues haha

If Calgary wants to overpay for Brock Boeser, make an offer!

2023 and 2024 First Round picks

      2023 Second round pick.

  8. This is how you develop leadership and build a team in the dressing room - not by signing guys like Kane lol. Loving Bruce and his coaching
  9. I have to agree - the time to move him is now. Lets be realistic - our chances of making the playoffs this year are slim - teams are ahead of us with games in hand. I would rather move some players get younger and give them the rest of the year under Bruce to improve and start fresh next year.
  10. As much as I despise the Flames if they get Miller they become that much more of a complete team and could lead top a deep playoff run.
  11. Agree with you but we really need a yound RD to come back as part of the package and not sure who in the West can offer us that
  12. I think you could see a bidding war by some of the Eastern teams - Miller is the type of player that could put any of them over the top in the Playoffs. Especially a team that doesn't have the firepower of the Panthers - I still think like many other posters Rangers are the best fit.
  13. Ummmm when your fanbase proclaims you have the two best players in the world and you continually sh*t the bed year after year you deserve all the shade thrown on you. You put those two on this team we have and I guarantee we are in a playoff position.
  14. Wow https://www.sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/jay-woodcroft-takes-oilers-head-coach-replacing-dave-tippett/ Jay Woodcroft is the Edmonton Oilers' new head coach, replacing Dave Tippett in the wake of the team's 4-1 loss to the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday, Sportsnet can confirm. The Oilers (23-18-3) are five points adrift of the Calgary Flames, who own the second wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Woodcroft, 45, was promoted from the Oilers' AHL affiliate, the Bakersfield Condors, where he has been head coach since 2018-19. Over three-plus seasons in Bakersfield, Woodcroft's record is 105-71-21 and was highlighted by a Calder Cup championship last season.
  15. Not sure why you have Makar and Fox on your list as they are roughly the same size as Quinn so hence the confusion by some of us
  16. I hear this Mikka guy from the KHL could have potential....... oh wait
  17. Was listening to the NHL Network radio on Sirius XM and one of the panelists was pointing out Miller gives a team 2 years of cap certainty for what he brings which means he has more value than a rental who is a UFA at the end of the season - hope this is true.
  18. 6 million in cap space is more than enough for him and even a late round pick is fine
  19. Can't believe the positive press this guy is getting since signing with Edmonton. Fakes his vaccination card and gets suspended for it - appears to have been a locker room cancer in the Peg and definitely has made some bad choices yet he is being portrayed as the Oilers saviour. You know if he signed here they would have spun it a different way lol.
  20. Using JRs vision for this team moving Garland makes no sense - if anything you are moving guys like Myers if you want to get younger and faster.
  21. Hell move the team to Saskatoon - their arena seats 15,000 doesn't it? They could charge premium price and they would pay it - not like the 4 tickets 4 beers 4 hot dogs for $20 special in Arizona.
  22. Edmonton has several issues - one of the biggest is Leadership! Not sure how this addresses this in a positive way.
